How do I turn off the light that keeps flashing on the motherboard after the pc is turned off?

I have the ASUS® PRIME B450-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.1, 6Gb/s) - RGB Ready! motherboard and when the PC turns off, the light inside the motherboard is still flashing. Is that the RGB thing that comes along with it and is there a way to turn it off when the pc turns off and turn it on when the pc is on? Should I keep it like it is now or turn it off to save power?

What light on the motherboard are you referring too? I'd have thought (but can't confirm) that the RGB should turn off when you switch off the PC.

If there's not a software solution to turn off the light you could always turn off the PC at the plug (or back of PSU) although I appreciate this is a kinda poor and cumbersome solution.

Edit: After reading @ubuysa and @Haywire23z comments below I have realised that i misread your initial post. You don't need to turn these off to conserve power unless you really want too. Turning off appliances at the wall will save power, but as the below pointed out, its a tiny amount so whether its worth it is up to you.

Most motherboards seem to keep their lights on after you shut down your PC. This might be to make it easier to locate the start button if you need to use it but idk.

Lots of people don't like it cuz it's an unnecessary power draw, I'm pretty certain you'll be able to disable it in the BIOS if it's bothering you.

Edit: Removed the quote cuz it wasn't needed

In terms of power drain these lights are tiny LEDs, the current they draw is likely measured in microamps. If you leave one on for the 5 year expected life of the PC the actual cost will be in pennies.

Even with all LEDs off a PC still draws a tiny amount of power to detect the power button switch being pressed. They're only ever off if the mains switch on the back is turned off.

True, though I know the lights can be annoying to some people, especially if they're flickering at night when you're trying to sleep. So I think you can turn them off in the bios, at least on most motherboards.

O sure, I agree that the flickering/light is an annoyance and I'd want to be able to turn them all off too! :)

Same with the zenith extreme alpha 2. and the small oled display also shows the animation on loop while powered off.
