How is this spec?

Hi,

I have already made the purchase but wanted to see if I made the right choices. Advice is welcome!

I was gifted a Dell GeForce 3060Ti graphics card which I wanted to use towards a new PC. I have tried to work around this graphics card as using it saved me a lot of money.
The PC is mainly for designing/renders and gaming. I mostly play sandbox and physics games (Space Engineers, StormWorks, Minecraft. etc).

I didn't want to spend thousands at the moment, just a good enough upgrade from my current slow PC.

Let me know if I made a good choice for the relatively low price I paid :)

I would cancel that, and give this a read, there's is no upgradability in that build, if you answer the questions raised in the post below then perhaps we can sort something that will give better bang for your buck

Modern Intel cpu's are dead on delivery

Just be aware, if it really is a Dell GPU (I wasn't aware dell made GPU's), then it may well not fit in a standard PCIe port as Dell will usually use bespoke connectors on their systems.

But I would 100% agree with @Martinr36 and cancel that build, you really don't want an Intel build, they're poor performers WHEN THEY WORK, and very expensive despite being poor CPU's.

An AMD build would give far better performance, upgradeability and stability and last a lot longer.

THIS!

Some of the Dell custom ones I've seen don't even have a 12v connector, and are power-limited to take all their power from the motherboard PCIe slot.

Monitor:
AOC G2460PQU 144Hz
Uses:
Designing and rendering using Stud.io (Lego design software) and gaming. Mainly physics style games (Space Engineers, StormWorks, Kerbal Space Program) and others such as GTA.
Max Budget:
For now I want my budget to be around £900 preferably, £1000 max if required.

In regards to the GPU, what would I do if it didn't fit in the PCIe slot? I'd rather not get a whole new graphics card for now while I have this good one on hand.

If it’s specific to dell systems then it won’t work in a custom pc, nothing you can do about that, just not a normal GPU to fit a standard system

Also, if someone were to help me configure a new PC that would do the job better, who do I speak to? And would it juts be in this chat?

I've attached a few images, are you able to tell if it'll work?

Would you be able to recommend another PC Configuration based on the budget I have?

This is about as close to £1000 I can get it, but it comes with some compromises to do so. None of the choices are bad, but some are not what we'd choose if the budget to fit a higher spec component was there.

Case
LIAN LI LANCOOL 215 GAMING CASE - slightly bigger case (at £5 extra) so that you get bigger fans (2x200mm vs 2x140mm so quieter for the same airflow), and more space for a larger GPU down the line; the Dell 3060Ti you've got looks like a dual-fan card, so should have no problem fitting in this case, but you'll have to ensure any future GPU upgrade doesn't exceed 370mm long (vs the 350mm of the 205 case)
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 7700 Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-5.3GHz/40MB CACHE/AM5) - not the best current-gen gaming CPU, but it's fine for this level; you're looking at another £150 for the current or future daddy in the 7800X3D/9800X3D; my concern here is 1080p takes a lot more out of the CPU than 1440p/4k (where the GPU takes the strain in most cases), so a faster gaming CPU would probably come into its own when you upgrade the GPU
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 4.0, Wi-Fi 6) - again, about the lowest I'd go in the motherboard tiers, but not a poor motherboard by a long way; the next generation of that MB is another £100
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz (2 x 16GB) - sweet spot for AM5 platform and cheaper than both the slower 5600MHz and 6000MHz RGB kits
Graphics Card
NONE, I ALREADY HAVE A GRAPHICS CARD
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB CORSAIR ELITE MP600 NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD (up to 7000 MB/R, 6200 MB/W) - our preference is for a 2 or more drive config, but the budget doesn't allow this, so this is the best value (cost vs performance) single 1TB on the configurator
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W RMe SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET - again, our preference would be for a higher wattage version of this ATX3.1 (newer spec, with better power protection circuitry), allowing for a beefier CPU/GPU down the line, but the budget doesn't allow it
Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR H100x RGB ELITE HIGH PERFORMANCE CPU COOLER - about the lowest level AIO liquid cooler (not water, but a fully contained, zero maintenance, non-conductive liquid)
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
ONBOARD 2.5Gbe LAN PORT
Wireless Network Card
NONE OR ONBOARD Wi-Fi (MOTHERBOARD DEPENDENT)
