I’m aware of the build time towards the bottom of the specs, but the production time keeps going up - it went into preproduction on Friday (14/10/2022) and started off with 4 working days but is now on 7 working days.

Thanks

Pre production is the time it's waiting in the queue to be built.

That is the longest part.

Then it moves into building and then testing before awaiting delivery.

The last stages will all be done within a couple of days.

Current queue I think is around 2 weeks (10 days)

Thank you for clearing that up, appreciate it :)

I'd use the preproduction 'delay' to tweak your build a little.
  • Remove Norton as it's a resource hog, and the built in Microsoft Security is better
  • The extra thermal paste is redundant as the AIO comes with pre-applied paste
  • For gaming you'll want 2x8GB 3200MHz RAM for that CPU (probably cost no more to add than the saving from the paste you remove)
  • Unless you already have a smaller/faster boot m.2 SSD to go into it, I'd recommend splitting your config to a 500GB 980 Pro and 1TB PCS m.2 so that you can keep the OS/Apps on a separate drive to your games/data...so that you don't risk losing everything if the OS needs wiping/reinstalling

The days count is the number of working days since it went into pre-production. It'll continue to rise until it's built, tested and awaiting dispatch. It isn't a prediction of when it'll be ready :)

I know, because I've been checking on my own build daily, if not twice daily :D

The only RAM there are all 2666MHz, and for the SSD there isn’t a 500GB 980 Pro but there is the 1TB PCS m.2 - I’m assuming you meant splitting the SSD? Sorry if I’m coming across as dumb, this is my first PC :)

Just had a look and it’s in building now, so I’m guessing I won’t be able to change stuff without paying extra, which I’m guessing will take longer?

That's correct, once it goes into building, any changes you make you get charged an additional fee
