How to configure a gaming pc? Gaming pc configurator

Hi. I want to build a computer but I am not sure what will make a good one. It will be used for gaming, very light editing and school work. I want a 3600 and rtx 2070 super for a good 1440p computer.

I am not sure what I will need for a monitor. After looking at recommend monitors, I think I need a 1440p, 144hz, 27 inch, DP, bright, g-sync comparability, IPS. Just tell me the cheapest one that you can find.

For the computer I want the Corsair airflow 220t as the case. I will be using a Ethernet cable (100mbps) but I still would like WiFi. I also want an m.2 ssd. The only things I will be putting on it is Windows 10, google chrome, Anti Virus, office 365 (for school) and discord. Will 500gb be enough? For the hard drive I will put steam, some steam games, minecraft and other programs on it. I think 2tb is enough. Budget around £1,000 or a bit more.

Now for peripherals. Keyboard can be mechanical or mechanical feel (men-chanical). I have never used a mechanical keyboard too much so I will be fine with one that feels like it. Full size because I use the number pad and a big enter button (see file 1). I also want it so the £ @ ? ! ‘ ” - / ; : % # * are available. For the mouse, I just want one that has a good latency, comfortable feel and somewhat match the keyboard. Those should be around £50-£60. I would than need a headset. Comfortable, good sound quality and a microphone with good voice quality. This should be around £35-£45.

Is this too much for me to ask? I do have windows 10 key that I will be transporting the key. Also, I do need a DVD drive (I think that’s what it is called). My printer programs and camera uses a cd to download files. I also have some movies on a dvd. Any questions just ask.

You won’t be able to get a 1440p build with a 2070 Super any where near £1000, you’ll be looking nearer £1500 to £1700

These will be online. All hardware comes with a DVD but you’re not supposed to use those programs, you’d use the latest versions from their website.

All a CD is is a file storage area. So if the camera can use a CD, then it's likely it can just store to a folder.

The corsair Airflow doesn't appear to be an option currently, so you'd need to source that yourself elsewhere and send it in if you specifically wanted that case.

This is a rough build with everything you're asking, I haven't included peripherals as you're looking for specifics that PCS don't stock so you'd be best sourcing from elsewhere. Bear in mind, this build has trade offs to make it as cheap as possible, but you'd want the 3800x really and a better cooler to make it where it wants to be:

I think I will go for the Corsair icue 220t airflow for the case than. It is on the configurator.

I am also thinking of keeping the computer for a good few years. By the time the hardware dies, it will be classed as “old” hardware so I will upgrade than. This means I won’t really need the option to upgrade once Nvidia or ryzen release their new generation. Also, is there a point to using X570? The pcs m.2 isn’t PCIe gen 4 so what’s the point in using the board?

So the ASU’s rog X570 could probably become the ASU’s tuf b550. The power supply can go down to the 650w tx and I have my own windows key for the computer.

Just change it at the top, if you're using a VPN, it's likely because of that.

B550 would be fine. But you'd still want the 3800x for any kind of editing.

The 750W PSU was selected as it will take any GPU upgrade you wish in the future as well as being a better tier PSU for quieter operation.

You can happily reduce to the 650W if you want to but it's a big tradeoff if you upgrade the GPU to something that requires more power.

When people say "it's never going to be upgraded" that's just misunderstanding the point of a computer. The platform (CPU, motherboard, RAM) should be strong enough to support future upgrades of GPU as that will be the first bottleneck. If you're considering upgrading the whole computer in 3 years time when you'll need to upgrade the GPU, then the build isn't suitable.

A good platform will last you 7 to 10 years with one or two gpu upgrades in that time.

Is there a need for X570? The pcs m.2 isn’t PCIe gen 4 so why would I need it? Will a future gpu only work on X570?

As for the cpu, I won’t be doing advanced YouTube video editing. Just putting some videos together, maybe adding in some text but that’s it. I’ve been able to do it with a
i5-8250U (4 cores) so I think the ryzen 3600x is enough with the standard cooler.

As for the monitor, I really need ips. I don’t want the colours to look weird when looked at a different angle.

The thing is you’re asking for a premium experience from a very small budget, it’s just not doable.
