how to know if i can play 4k

i have a defiance iii
Defiance Series: 15.6" Matte 3K IPS LED Widescreen (2880x1620)
Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor 6820HK (2.7GHz, 3.6GHz Turbo)
Memory (RAM) 64GB HyperX IMPACT 2133MHz SODIMM DDR4 (4 x 16GB)
Graphics Card NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 - 6.0GB GDDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1, G-SYNC

do you know if will be able to play video 4k on a 4k tv via the HDMI?

It has HDMI 2.0b so will do 4k 60Hz. The card should manage playback fine.

mid suggest checking out Plex if you want a good media manager.

also, how do you know it's a hdmi 2b, i cna't find this info.

ps: my vlc codec infi says 3840x1600 but does it mean it broadcast in this resolution? (i can't find a live statistics with resolution statistic)
