You don't want a 1440p screen for 3080, it's just a waste of a good card.I'm leaning towards getting the g7 32" curved 1440p 240hz , Aorus FI32 4k 144hz or the LG 38" ultragear UWQHD
I have spent longer pondering the monitor than I did the desktop.
The ultrawide similarly would be a waste of the 3080.My thinking was that it would push the frames right up with the g7.
I do like the g9 it's just too big for my area, if you had to choose between the LG ultrawide or the aorus 4k 32" what would you pick
The 3070 or 3070ti would be suitable for that monitor, 3080 will be wasted.I think the LG has a resolution just above normal ultrawide at 3840x1600p, sort off between normal ultrawide and a g9
The Aorus is an excellent budget monitor, the price is quite hard to beat and it beats the previous entry level models in performance as well. It's a very good option.I might just go for this aorus 32" 4k 144hz then. It does not have as good HDR as the more expensive ones but I can live with that rather than pay nearly 3x the price.
Upgrade maybe in a few years when better HDR monitors get cheaper.
You said your budget was £1000 or has that changed?Or do you know of any better 4k monitors around the same price range?, that you can actually buy right now that is.
Generally any 4k or superwide you would be expected to mount on a deskmount or wall mount. Otherwise you'll take up most of your desk with the stand.I could go to £1.3 if it would be significantly better.
Only other 4k that I have seen and can actually buy now is a 43" 4k 144hz but I would have to mount on the wall as it would be too close.
I didn't actually think about the m32u as I just thought it would be inferior due to price but on comparison I can't see much difference. You could just as happily go for the M32U, rather than the Aorus FI32U. It's not significantly worse, perhaps even better in some ways, and it's miles cheaper.
Gigabyte M32U Review
The Gigabyte M32U is a 32-inch 4k mid-range gaming monitor that's bigger than the Gigabyte M27U. It has several gaming-focused features, like HDMI 2.1 bandwidth,...www.rtings.com
Thanks didn't know that I will get looking for a mount also, problem also with it being a 43" monitor is it would be on the wall about a metre away from the family TV and would clash ( TV is on chimney breast in middle of room)Generally any 4k or superwide you would be expected to mount on a deskmount or wall mount. So a deskmount would be more suitable then. Thanks didn't know that I will get looking for a mount also, problem also with it being a 43" monitor is it would be on the wall about a metre away from the family TV and would clash ( TV is on chimney breast in middle of room)
Basically the same panel, but with slightly inferior features (which a deskmount would obviate).I didn't actually think about the m32u as I just thought it would be inferior due to price but on comparison I can't see much difference.
I have bought a dining table because I have this annoying fuse cupboard in the corner, so I am going to not attach one of the legs and fit the back of the table to the cupboard but I will somehow manage to get a deskmount on it also.So a deskmount would be more suitable then.
