I5 9600k Spec, please can someone check it?

Not sure where you've gotten to with your build as it seems that a lot has been chopped and changed..

The last build suggested by @SpyderTracks is spot on, it doesn't really need any tweaking or changing for your uses.

That being said, perhaps there is some logic or thinking behind your tweaks that we aren't understanding? There is also the possibility that you think the changes are making it a more future proof system (they aren't). If you feed back your thinking on the build and changes, we can do exactly the same

I just thought the few more cores might come in useful for games such as Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 because that it coming out on a console with 8 cores, I believe. I also dont upgrade that often so thought it would be best?

I'm also looking forward to FS2020 but I don't think core count is going to make much odds tbh. It's going to be cloud driven for the most part. The physics aren't hard to drive. Basically the physics is going to be similar to FSX, which just about any old system could handle...... it was the GFX that was always tricky, which is now taken care of by the cloud.

Bumping up the core count is fine, the issue is where you sacrifice other areas of the build in order to get a CPU in. The foundation/base of the system is far more crucial to longevity than a core count or CPU ever will be.

If you take the build, exactly as @SpyderTracks has it and drop in the 3800X and a 240mm Coolermaster cooler then that would ease your mind I guess....... but that's going to cost you. Note, the difference in price between the 3700X and the 3800X now makes it a no brainer to go with the 3800X.

If you want to shoehorn in the CPU over other features, it's not a wise move.

Yeah, there's not of difference in price now. It's a good buy to be honest

3800X paired with the 240mm Coolermaster Lite would be my recommendation.

Is the noctua u14s okay as well?

I will probably stick to the 3600 like Spider said tho tbf, just keeping my options open thats all. Haha.

The Noctua is an excellent air cooler but it's bulky and heavy. It also relies on the internal case air and will heat soak eventually. An AIO is always the route to go down nowadays.

If I did go down the Noctua route with the 3800x, with everything else the same, some ppl told me that I will need extra case fans? Is this the case? If so, which ones would you recommend on PCS?

No, you won’t need any extra case fans. The case is designed in a certain way with airflow in mind, if you add case fans you’ll actually disrupt the airflow and create negative spots.

Also, with the Asus TUF motherboard, is it okay to pair it with the 500gb seagate 520? Also, I am going for the 3600 now thanks to your advice and getting a better ssd instead.

The 3600 makes the most sense for gaming. The TUF fits great with the 520 firecuda.
