I would put a few ££ more into the system if you can. If you can't then I would lower the GPU to make it more affordable rather than compromise any of the other items...

I presume you are looking to game at 1440p? If it's 1080p then the standard Nvidia 2060 would have you more than covered even with your video editing in mind. I don't know how much the 5700 helps with video, you may need the XT. If this isn't a consideration though the 1660 would have you more than covered.

If you post up some specific uses including what monitor you are gaming on and what software you use for video editing we can be a little more precise with what fits best.

Not bought one yet but it was going to be a 1080p monitor, 144hz
Video editing would be on adobe premiere pro.
where would the money be better spent?

The one I posted had the specs I would recommend upgrading. It culminated in being £86 over budget, hence the extra spend recommendation.

It's an expensive "X" that doesn't mean anything in regards to noticeable performance. The 3600 is a great CPU.

9600K has 6 cores 6 threads, the 3600 has 6 cores 12 threads. For multi-tasking and multi-core use, such as video editing, the 3600 will fare better. For gaming there's nothing of note in it as you will be GPU bound.

For 1080p 144hz I would go with the Nvidia 1660 Super, this would save you around £100 and more than meet your requirements.

That'll be a great build. Just FYI..... in the months or years to come you're only short of a GPU upgrade from a full on 1440p gaming monster. GPU & PSU from a 4k machine.

You have a very, VERY, good base for just about anything you want to make of it for a generation or 2 of GPU.
