I can understand the annoyance around the "dust" as you'd hope someone would have at very least wiped it over and prepared it to look as it should.

That aside, I can not for one moment imagine PCS selling you an item that isn't as was described... ie if it were second hand they would tell you and not "slide it in there" and hope you don't notice. It wouldn't be worth their reputation with you or for that matter anyone of their other customers who would seriously frown upon such a thing.

I've ordered a number of systems from PCS over the last few years and never been in any doubt of the legitimacy of their hardware and work.

I've had a response from PC Specialist and it is fairly comprehensive:

This isn’t a loose connection, it’s the motherboard speaker that gives the beep signal when you turn on your PC.



Regarding the state of the card; you are rightfully unhappy and we do apologise that the card you had delivered was in this state. We have some RTX2060's in stock and we are happy to replace the card, just let me know if this is something you would like to do. We can send an advanced replacement to be swapped for this one at your doorstep.



With regards to the message you received from Zotac: I think they have poorly worded this, which hasn’t helped the situation. Some people on the forums have already answered the question by stating we are an OEM provider, Zotac stated "pre-built" but what I believe they meant is that some models are not released for public sale as they will reserve them for System integrators/OEM providers like us.



This is the most likely outcome in this case, all parts we sell are genuine branded parts with full warranty support.

Although it doesn't excuse the poor as-received condition of the card (especially when a dust would've sorted it!) at least it hopefully puts your mind at rest with regards the 'status' of the card.

Did you request the replacement out of interest?

I just got one of these cards . It's pretty alright Tbh .. been testing it out running it through the mill with test and simulations .. runs smooth and hasn't reached bad temps so far.

As for legitimacy it's the real deal I was also very concerned and contacted zotac and PCS .. nothing out of the ordinary. But I understand you're concern as i was also looking g for one and could not find one anywhere.

As for dust .. damn I'd be pretty annoyed.

Would also like to know if you got a replacement and what kind you got.

Just thought I'd follow up here with an apology - I jumped the gun. After using this system for a few months I can safely say it is the best computer I've ever used. I switched over from Mac and I am delighted, not only does this PC scrub through pro res RAW footage but I have finally been able to play Half Life Alyx and many other VR titles I have been hoping to play for years.

I have to hand it to the team at PC specialist, if I had gone somewhere else and spent the same amount I would have a system that stutters with heavy editing workloads.

I just hope I can grab a new 30 series card at some point for MSRP!

thought you'd like to see this the response above! I didn't opt for a replacement and I have been more than happy with this system.

No apology needed I think - you had concerns founded on the unexpected condition of your parts - followed it up - and got to the bottom of it all. Well done I say.

And yet another example of PCS performing above expectations also. To offer to replace a card - not because it isn’t working - just because it wasn’t delivered in the clean condition you’d expect - is outstanding CS in my opinion. Well done to them too!
