It's not a bad start, but I'd rebalance it slightly for the best use of your money, and especially for longevity.

I'm presuming that your budget is around £1400 and that you're using a 1080p 144Hz monitor -- perhaps you could confirm these...

i have a budget of £1600 and really don’t have much of an idea when it comes to specs. The monitor is Alienware 25 inch 240 hz, response time 1ms. Hope this helps

Yeah, it's ideal for your monitor. Whether it will achieve all of the 240Hz the monitor is capable of is open to question and will depend on the game, but that's no problem at all as framerates above 120Hz are increasingly indiscernible to most human eyes.
