What were you planning on using the PC for?

Though to be honest that spec is ridiculously overkill for anything I could even vaguely think of (looks like you just picked the most expensive thing from each section)

I've been working on a gaming room, it has all hi-tec gaming things, I just want a high end pc, that will not go out of date for a while.

Also just to show off :p 7.5 grand is expensive though, may be worth looking into further. How ever the Intel® Xeon® 8-Core looks rather promising and I would love to give that a try! and 64 GB ram? that's just insane... 4 GB Dual 690's is amazing!

And entirely unnecessary for a gaming PC where the GPU does most of the work

and 64 GB ram? that's just insane...
Insane is the correct word and totally pointless if its for gaming, 16GB would be overkill, let alone 64 :)

Basically if you want an awesome gaming machine that will last many years, I'm sure various people can come up with specs for about 2k (7.5k on a gaming machine really is just a waste)

Let me create a new spec, then post it, then tell me if it's still good enough for gaming.

I agree with rakk. You selected a 3d kit but you need a 3d tv. The below spec is still expensive and overkill but thats the most you should spend on a gaming pc.

Which you'll probably get nowhere near utilising...

OK, I've took all of this into consideration, and re-made my spec. I made a new thread for it, as when I try to post it, it automaticly deletes it for some odd reason. As long as I can play BF3 with no lag, then my life is complete.

It didn't delete it, they just got put into the moderation queue - when this happens you just need to be patient and wait for a moderator to validate it - I've validated the one in thsi thread and deleted the new thread to keep it tidier

Memory (RAM)
16GB KINGSTON HYPERX GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 2133MHz X.M.P(4 x 4GB KIT)
If overclocking maybe go for the 1600 or 1866MHZ RAM, it will be more stable than the 2133, if not overclocking either the 1333MHz or 16000MHz (though you wont notice much difference between the two)

Memory - 1st Hard Disk
2TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 64MB CACHE
I'd suggest going for the Caviar Black at least, it'll be faster booting and loading than the bog-standard Sata III drive.
SSD's are a very nice addition as well, if you want it faster

Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W PRO SERIES™ HX750-80 PLUS® SILVER MODULAR (£114)
Will you be SLI'ing later? If so you may want to increase the PSU to cope with it later

Warranty
3 Year Standard Warranty (1 Month Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour)
Go for the silver at least, its only a fiver and changes the collect and return from a month to a year, well worth it even if only for peace of mind.

I won't be over-clocking this pc.

is the current RAM, that i've selected still OK? I want 16GB RAM. what RAM would be the most reliable and best?

And the Harddrive, is the 2T WD CAVIAR BLACK WD2002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB CACHE 7200RPM. a better choice to go for?

and No, I won't be SLI'ing. I'll keep that PSU.

and the waranty, I did what you said.

I've decided not to go over 1.3k now...I'll go with the last specs I got up, I' m just waiting for Rakk to respond :)

thanks for the suggestion

Well the 1333MHz is likely to be the most stable followed by the 1600Mhz so I'd go for one of them, if not overclocking the 2133MHz will give you no benefit over the 1333Mhz anyways

I' m just waiting for Rakk to respond :)
That's just scary :) And not always sensible, after all Thursday night is a good night on the SyFy channel :) so can lead to very delayed responses
Also, it is always good to get a second or third opinion :) and I'm sure various forums members can give you a very balanced spec for your budget

My mother found out that i was spending 7.5k on a pc..
she went mental..
Quite rightly :)

Haha, I don't mind waiting for responses, :)

I've changed the RAM and Hard drive, are they all good now?

Hardrive = 2TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD2002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB CACHE 7200RPM.

Ram = 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (4 x 4GB KIT)

Anyone who even considers spending £7.5k on a PC needs their head looking at... Apart from benchmarking software, where you might see a few extra points, you wont really notice enough to justify that kind of money. EVER

For a 1.3K budget you could get this.

That spec will max out anything you throw at it, possibly add a 750W psu that way you can add a 2nd GPU and still have a bit of wiggle room.
