If an item I have purchased has been QC'd does this mean it should be dispatched soon?

'Awaiting Dispatch' is the next stage in the process, presuming no issues are found.
So if no issues are found yes it shouldn't be too much longer, but note things don't get dispatched over the weekend. So early next week I'd reckon would be the earliest for dispatch if it hasn't been already
