Time for an update. I finally got another stick of 1.2V ram (I actually got it over 4 weeks ago at the time of this post - but I seem to spend more time at work) and set aside about 30 minutes(!) to change the ram around 3(!) laptops! Yes, I just managed it, but missed a train to work by doing so! While I was taking apart the laptops, I thought I'll take some photos to show the differences between all 3, its quite fascinating. Oh, those TongFang screws are CRAP!
The top is the AMD computer (Recoil IV), which is one I brought from PC Specialist, the bottom is the Intel system which I got elsewhere, which is very similar to the Iconio 15", for some reason, has the PC Specialist branding on the bottom, but the BIOS is different, so is a few other minor things.
And of course, my Clevo NP50D5 which was one I did get from PC Specialist, now just has 1 32GB ram stick from its original 8GB ram stick. Great machine BTW for those that never had one. AFAIKO, it may of been discontinued.
Anyway, Recoil IV benchmark, this time dGPU only, 3200mhz RAM and 64GB of it all.
Strangely slower! I guess that is because I have a Lenovo OEM stick in one slot and an ADATA Premier Stick (I think) in the other! Both 1.2V modules, both 3200mhz modules, both 32GB modules.
Not quite a fair comparison, but the score dropped (for some reason!) down to 24,228 on the first try, then I raised the laptop and the charger fell out! Whoops!
As for the benchmark of the NP50D5, I went to the extremes of creating a new install of Windows and still got the problems of benchmark visiblity.
