It happens during games, when running simulations on ANSYS, if I leave Folding at Home on for a while, anything that stresses the CPU signficantly.
I've seen the same thing by a deleted user on this forum before, you guys asked them whether I undervolted the CPU. No i haven't I'm afraid to do anything that risky to my laptop

First thing to check is thermals. If you install HWMONITOR and check temps when idle and under load and post the cpu package temps:

they are good. 70-85 most of the time, very very ocasional 90-96 and even the crash doesnt happen at those times. This is for the individual cores
sorry the package temperatures are not regularly 70-85. they're all over the place between 79-99 and a screenshot would only capture one temperature reading.

Ok so the CPU is definitely overheating. How long have you had it?

Are your GPU drivers up to date? How are you updating them?

it returned from an RMA like a week ago.
My GPU drivers should be up to date, I rely on NVIDIA Geforce Experience for the newest ones.

i'm not able to do it myself. do i get an RMA for that? also shouldn't it thermal throttle rather than cut power to the system?
Why can’t you do it yourself? You’ll need to do it frequently on a performance laptop, it’s very easy, it’s standard maintenance.

i guess i'll try then, if the reason why isn't true.
Thing is, my bud told me that they voided their warrantee by doing it when they removed the heatsink, there's a "void sticker" or something on it.
It was an Asus laptop so there's that. idk if pcs does the same.

That’s why people get custom builds, you can’t do anything on branded laptops, PCS have an open case policy so you can do what you like so long as you don’t damage it in the meantime.

Im not saying temps are causing the shutdowns, but either way, they need to be brought under control before troubleshooting further.
