Laptop shuts down without warning at random times

That’s why people get custom builds, you can’t do anything on branded laptops, PCS have an open case policy so you can do what you like so long as you don’t damage it in the meantime.

Im not saying temps are causing the shutdowns, but either way, they need to be brought under control before troubleshooting further.
gotcha. undervolting is a good idea?

As said, that should bring temps under control and then we can troubleshoot further.
By the way, games keep crashing when playing. I just now underclocked the CPU for the time being to manage temps as I don’t want to simulate anything on an unstable wackadoodle anyway, and was playing to relax. And the game kept crashing every 15 minutes. It’s been crashing since yesterday, before that I haven’t had any issues

should I worry about this or will readying solve both problems?

until you deal with temps it's impossible to do any troubleshooting.

You'll need to remove the underclock as well, we need to get the system performing within tolerances at decent temps before we can test other bits.
Yes will remove it now that I can’t game either. 😕 it was the only reason I kept it, gaming is pretty addictive

After you get a crash, next time you boot windows go into event viewer, win+r type eventvwr press enter, goto Windows Logs, System, find the crash recovery item, and have a look around it before the crash, see if anything is showing in there, if it's a thermal runaway there will be event logs saying it, and if it's memory/dma/HAL then likewise, be easier if you had them to determine the exact cause.

I will do that. Not sure how to open “event viewer” tho
