I have 7y-o PCSpecialist box (partial spec below) that works just fine and was upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11 when it first came out. It required a couple of the standard hacks to do the upgrade but now I'm being told that my version of W11 has reached end of service and there is no workaround any more, because MS have tightened up the h/w requirements and my Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-7700 is no longer classed as compatible.
So, I'm thinking of upgrading the ATX motherboard, CPU, RAM and SSD with new components and reinstalling W11 from scratch.
1) Is this a viable approach, or should I just replace the whole kaboodle? 2) If so any advice on board & cpu choice (business/home use; no gaming) would be very much appreciated!
Case
CORSAIR CARBIDE SERIES™ 200R COMPACT GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-7700 (3.6GHz) 8MB Cache
Motherboard
ASUS® PRIME B250-PLUS: ATX, LGA1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs
Memory (RAM)
8GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2133MHz (2 x 4GB)
Graphics Card
INTEGRATED GRAPHICS ACCELERATOR (GPU).. etc
Many thanks,
