Have a read of what SpyderTracks has linked to, as we need some info from you before progressing. It might seem petty to you that we're just giving you a link to read, but it saves us having to repeat the same answers to the same questions over and over.

In essence (and please read the link to ensure I've covered everything)...we will need:
  • What's it for (i.e. gaming only or gaming is the priority; 50:50 gaming / video production; even split between gaming / video editing / 3D rendering; etc.) - so we can pick the most appropriate CPU for the usage?
  • Max budget (so we don't go back & forth when asked what could be added for £100 more, or what could be tweaked to save £100)?
  • Make & model, or resolution & refresh rate of your monitor(s) - panel type would help too as we can see if you'd benefit from a monitor upgrade?
  • Any space constraints for the PC case?
  • Any aesthetic constraints, e.g. as much RGB as possible, or as little RGB as possible?
But whilst you read & ponder, I'll say the PSU is under-powered even without upgradability in mind, as a 750w RMe would be the minimum for a 'throwaway' 1080p build; 1200W is the next step up in the newer ATX3.1 PSUs (until it's confirmed that PCSpecialist are supplying the rest of their RMx models in ATX3.1 spec); Norton is malware so remove it.

Hi Tony, thanks for getting back to me.

It would be primarily for gaming.
Max budget is probably £2.5k but doesn't need to reach that value if not required to.
Current monitor is the Dell S3422DWG WQHD resolution (3440x1440) 144Hz refresh rate
No constraints, I don't mind RGB but not don't want too much either.

Thanks for the initial tips, I did downgrade the PSU based on the feedback you get when you proceed with the quote, but thank you for the feedback. And yes not sure how Norton snuck in, will remove that.

Any other hints and tips would be great.

Thank you.

Do people just ignore me or have I been actively hidden from general users? It’s really concerning me, I don’t understand why these posts go completely ignored?

Hi SpyderTracks, sorry you're message is completely grey'd out and didn't realise it was part of the conversation. I will have a read through your initial message now.

That’s what I was worried about, so there is some kind of filtering going on.
Thank you, this has been asked so many time why people don’t read the link provided, you’re the first person who’s given a rational explanation

Is there any chance you could post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Maybe it's the swath of grey text in the signature that makes it look like a 'greyed out' suggestion?

I have sigs turned off for that very reason.
