Hello everyone, really worried about this, as It looks complicated to fix...

I just need some advice. I had headphones in my front usb jack, and i accident pulled it out, as I tripped over the wire. Now the port is all mashed and broken, so I'm not sure how to fix it. I had to use a screwdriver to remove the plastic bit that got stuck inside also, so it looks even more mashed. The case is Coolermaster CM690 MkII Advanced Here is a picture.

Wowza... that is pretty badly damaged!

I would guess you can get as replacement part for your case which has those USB's in it (and the headphone/mic slots) if you get in touch with PCS they will be able to advise you.

Thank you, I have contacted them now, and am awaiting a reply. The computer it self cost me £1,800 when I bought it from here 2 years ago, so I don't want it to cause any other problems.

I removed it all, but it looks too complicated, all connected to others etc... So I did not remove it just in case.

Also, if anyone is wondering, I decided to remove the usb port completely to avoid any potential over current, that stops me using the pc Completely. Here are some picture of the update.

Sorry for bad quality, bad phone.

I would think that PCS should be able to get you sorted with that. My wife has a mangled USB port on her Compaq laptop (Mr Nobody mangled it of course ;)) but since it's part of the motherboard I can't take that one out. I have made certain that no contacts are touching and I've sealed the port (it's amazing what blue-tak can be used for).

+rep for taking sensible and wise action to remove the port and stop the problem getting worse. :)

you did the right thing unplugging it. usb have 5v it just not worth the risk. you can solder usb on to boards but if it go wrong that it could be very costly as a new board would be needed. I would recommend Hand Mouldable Plastic for blocking ports that is no longer working works great as a glue too. never gave blue-tek ago.
