Microsoft flight sim crashing

So I just got a new PC with a 3090 and a 5950x and the first game I wanted to play was flight sim, now I can get through all the splash screens at the start but once it gets to the landmark image it immediately crashes back to steam so I can’t download the rest of the game. I’ve tried everything from verifying files to running as admin but nothing works. Anyone know what the problem is?
