Microsoft flight simulator rig

Hi all

i have been playing Microsoft flight simulator on the Xbox and decided to upgrade to PC. I have never built a PC before. I would like to output at 1440. I don’t want to do VR or 4K. I would like to run at high graphics settings. I assume that this PC will have an Ethernet port to hardwire to the router. This is pretty much at the top of my budget

Flight sim is the hungriest game on the planet, and you'd need a 3080ti / 3090 to achieve 60fps at 1080p at full settings.

You could do it at 1440p with a 3070ti but you'd have to reduce settings all the way down.

You would need to push the budget slightly but it's definitely doable. This would perform very well at 1440p. If you can push for the 3080 it'll let you move the sliders slightly more to the right but I don't think you would notice the difference.

Hi all

Thanks for your input on my last ‘flight sim rig’ post. I have made some changes. Will the below run MSFS at 1440 on high? Not fussed in ultra, 4K, or VR. I will be using the 1440 monitor I have at the moment, with my iPad as a second screen for flight charts, etc.

The spec @Scott made up for you earlier on the thread is a better all rounder, you’re going in the wrong direction with this one. What’s the logic behind the changes?

Thank you for merging the thread. I don’t really know what I’m doing to be honest as new to this. I made the changes to be as powerful as possible but will change back to @Scott suggestion. Can’t seem to select the i5 though

You just click on the config link at the bottom of the spec and it fully specs it.
