Giddy with excitement at having been moved from the pre-queue to the actual queue, I must now fight hard to resist the urge to ask you about the stock situation for the 5600X cpu and the RTX 3060 ti. There is of course no possible way for you to know this.

I do notice however that there is a thread for the 3080, a thread for the 3070, but no thread for us wise, self-aware and value conscious types who don't have a 4K monitor and thus recognized that the 3070 would be overkill (after it was patiently explained to us), and so now find ourselves waiting for the less flashy yet also very good 3060 ti. I feel like we should also have a thread to hang out in here on the forum. There must be dozens of us, dozens!

I was trying to find a 3060Ti thread the other day as I could have sworn there was one but I couldn't find it...I still am convinced there was one though

I guess I could just start one and see how long it survives before a clever mod finds and merges it with the old one, if it exists...

Thats the build i'm waiting on as well. I just look at the other threads as assuming we're in the same boat

So... playing around with this build on the partpicker.com website (as you do), I'm getting an alert suggesting that the motherboard I've picked won't be able to utilize the front USB c port on the 680x case.

"Corsair Crystal 680X RGB ATX Mid Tower Case has a front panel USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port, but the Asus TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard does not have sufficient USB 3.2 Gen 2 or Gen 1 headers. The case USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C port will not be usable."

Should I be looking to select a different motherboard?

So, this is almost certainly me having too much time on my hands whilst waiting for my system to be built, BUT:

Are we definitely certain that a R5 5600x build in a Corsair 680x case doesn't need any additional cooling? I've seen a fair few builds online with the 5600x paired with a 3060ti or 3070 gpu and most of them seem to favour adding something beyond the stock fans on the case...

I decided to add some MOAR FANS to this. I might want to try mount the GPU vertically but obviosuly there could be some thermal implications to that so having two extra fans bringing in air from the bottom and one extra exaust on the top makes sense to me.

Also makes the whole thing even more shiny, which is obviously good.
