As already said, for gaming 1440p 144hz would be a far better experience than 4k 60hz

I need to buy a monitor for my computer and I cannot figure out what type of monitor i can buy? (My CPU and my GPU can handle 4K at 60fps) People say go for 1440p but my gaming rig is able to run higher resolutions

60hz is not “gaming”.

I got bored of posting links. 60hz “gaming” monitors are purely for early adopters who buy it just to try out a new resolution as soon as it’s released. You’d never use a 60hz monitor as your primary gaming monitor though, it’s really poor vs high refresh.

It's like TV's, above a certain size, the expectation isn't that you have it on the stand on the desk, it takes up far too much space on the desk and isn't practical.

Like with TV's, it would be expected to either wall mount it, or use a desk bracket on which you mount it.

There are loads of different options, and various different mounting methods if it's a desk mount.

I have for instance a desk mount which is drilled into the desk, but you can get clamp ones also. Wall mounts are just like any TV mount.

Can anyone please confirm that my gtx 670 dp is 1.2 but my monitor will be dp1.4 meaning I cannot use the monitor on dp to test it when I get it in advance of my new PC? I guess I can use hdmi just to get it working. Graphics card hdmi 1.4 new monitor will be monitor hdmi 2.0

You can use a DP 1.2 on any monitor that has that or above. It's just you won't get the benefits of 1.4 that the monitor supports.

Same works with HDMI or any output.

HDMI is years behind DP though, so if using anything, you want to use DP.

Yes PC now ordered. But it was from a supplier. Got a fantastic deal. And get it end of June which for a rtx 3090 system is pretty quick atm. PCSpecialist wait time was 3 months and price was more expensive for pretty much the same spec. But they were my preferred supplier just cant wait that long.
