Monitor sleep while browsing?

Hi. New to the forum. Hoping someone here will be able to help/advise me?

I have a desktop PC, with a 23" AOC monitor. The problem is... It keeps switching off after several seconds, and I have to jiggle the mouse or login again if not at the desk for a while.
Thank you in anticipation.

That's normal, it's called sleep, you can turn it off in "power & sleep" settings.

Thank you for your reply.

I'm a wally...I did look at the sleep options b/4 but didn't slide the window down far enough to see "Never" lol.
Sorry to waste your time.

Sorry, Spydertracks.

I guess it's nothing to do with the Sleep/Power thing, as the screen is STILL going off after a few seconds.
I can't read a long message/story, without the screen going off.
It's got me flummoxed for sure :(

Check the power settings of the screen OSD itself.

Thanks.
I've tried looking at the settings.
Another problem...
I can see the settings in the right-hand side of the monitor, but there isn't a button to enter it, only up & down arrows?
It isn't a touch screen.

Do you have a manual for the monitor? You can almost certainly find one online.

I would ensure first that Windows isn't blanking the monitor, so set the 'turn off the display' in power options to 'never'. Whilst you're in there make sure that the graphics options are set to 'maximum performance'. Then you'll know it's not Windows turning off the display, so if it still continues it's the monitor itself turning off. The manual should help you figure out how to disable that....

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately can't find the manual now.
Looked online, but cannot find. :(

I have the sleep set to never, but nothing in the "Graphics option" just asks for an app.

just had a look through, and it doesn't show how to completely navigate the OSD settings.
As said b/4, just up & down arrows etc. Unless I'm missing something, or need Spec savers? :p

that's correct.
Problem is.....
When I scroll up/down, with the arrows. I stop on the required icon (brightness, setting etc) and I can't get into them.
Hope that makes sense?

That rather sounds like the monitor may be faulty....

Yes, that's what I dreaded, as it's been great, and can't afford another at the moment.
Ces la vie.
