836W is way too boarderline for me i would not risk that, are you having this mainly as a gaming system ?

Gaming, video/photo editing, graphics design, the like. Should I go for the 1010PSU for the same price?

EDIT i didn't see that spec you posted, the thing is I need an i7 for the photo/video stuff :)

No no no you know i am going to get you to push the budget slightly now and tell you to go for the homeplugs seriously you won't regret them and the first time you lose connection with the wi-fi this will be the first thing on your mind, anyway good to see i managed to get something thought i might actually have to concede but i guess not :smartass:

It all depends on how lucky you are is all i can say as there are plenty of people who don't have much trouble and some that do, i would not go back to wi-fi with the pc's i still use it for the printer though but that has to be left on if i switch it off i sometimes have to restart the router to reconnect it.

Ahhh, I've been using wifi on my laptop for the past year and it's never lagged... is this different for PCI cards?

Any different card being an inbuilt one in a laptop or a pci card type in a desktop can have problems, and no i did not mean the lag all i meant was about the connection dropping if it does maybe yours is reliable enough i don't know, but i would rather put money towards a homeplug setup than a wi-fi card.
