Hello! Thank you for replying so fast. My maximum budget was £1550, i already have a 165Hz, G-SYNC Monitor (Dell S2417DG), i am planning to use this pc for : streaming, gaming, and graphic design. Not sure if i could trim the price, but i would like to have the 2070 Super stay. Do you think extra case fans are needed? What USB ports should i go for? I don't need much storage, should i keep the hard drive or not?

All sounds great but i dont like the Card, The manufacturer of the card is not shown and the strix is better quality and will last me a long time.
is their anyway to make it cheaper while keeping the Strix 2070 Super? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for that, interesting point, but how would i know if it is a zotac card or a palit card?
I always thought strix was better and had better in game performance results in benchmarks, im not sure which way to go. Im happy to explore all options as it is a big purchase for me, any other thoughts?

This is very inaccurate. The strix is expensive because it’s ASUS, it’s simply a brand tax. Many manufacturers are better than asus, I’d put ASUS about mid way for quality. And asus support are amongst the worst.

There will be effectively zero difference in performance if you get palit, zotac or asus.

Ok, thanks for the reply, i have some questions, how would i be guaranteed quality when i dont know if i will get a palit or a zotac card? dosent the strix have better cooling, and is ,more reliable? Thanks

Palit and Zotacs cooling are just as good. The only difference is the brand tax.

i thought that the strix with 3 fans and a larger heat sync would keep cooler, therefore lasting ,longer and having better performance results

It won't last any longer because it runs cooler, lifespan is only reduced if a card is specifically overheating which none of the models do.

There's a good comparison of GPU performance here:

At 1440p, there's literally like 1fsp between the worst performers and the best performers.

Since the GTX1000 series came along you have nvidia GPU boost 3.0 which now means that the cards auto overclock so effectively that there's very little headroom for any increased performance between the models.

So yes, they implement their own PCB's and cooling solutions, but so long as it's cooled within the target range, then doesn't matter how much lower you go below that, won't make any difference to performance or longevity.

There is ONE area where this isn't true and that's with Rendering systems, or data analaysis machines that are running the cards at much much higher load than gaming will ever do. That's the only time we'd recommend the strix over another brand.

But the premium on the strix of over £100 for a fraction of improved performance, but much worse support should anything go wrong just factors it out, it's not a worthwhile buy.

I have done some research, and i found the strix for £440 from Box.com, this is cheaper then Palit and Zotac, apart from that i researched some more on the card and found out that with its superior cooling i could overclock it to over 2000 Mhz out of the box leaving all the other cards behind and increasing the performance of the Strix significantly higher, shame that they have not the best support.

Again, you can do exactly the same with the other cards. There’s literally no difference.

Hey, thanks for the reply, as i said in the message above the cooling on the strix is better, meaning it can keep cooler, therefore giving it more headroom for overclocking, giving it better performance, all the research was done on non biast reviews. Thanks

No it is not, im doing my research and i am trying to find all the information needed to be comfortable to buy the card i would be happy with.

That’s not true, if you research any other card you’ll find they’re all extremely good coolers and some including palit and zotac are extremelt good overclockers. Any card can overclock, it’s a feature of the nvidia chip.

It’s obvious you’re a fan boy so won’t discuss any more, it’s worthwhile looking at all the offerings rather than focusing on one to get the most accurate information.

To cut a long story short, With your budget, I think this is about as good as youll get.
You would be wasting money on a Strix GPU given your budget limitations...you would have to sacrifice elsewhere to fit it in and just be shuffling round a bottleneck you can avoid.
This is also a build you would be able to upgrade properly, and get 8 to 10 years out of it. I would personally rethink the case but thats up to you.

Should you go any higher with the CPU spec you would need a proper cooler, but given its a 550 board it will mean you can upgrade the CPU to the next series, and mostly likely the one after that, so in 4/5 years time you can upgrade to the highest it will take, and add a few more years to its lifespan.
The barracuda HDD are actually better than the Ironwolf, especially the 1 or 2TB ones
The 750 RMx will make upgrades and drive additions far easier as its fully modular, its also higher quality and will last longer, its quieter and the extra headroom on the power will mean you can upgrade to any GPU without needing to upgrade the PSU too for more more juice.

This is a system aimed at 1440p 144Hz refresh as well, it wont have any problems running any game you can throw at it on a 1440p 27" monitor, also given the 3000 series GPU's are a month or two away...wasting cash on a ROG Strix isnt a wise move.

If you had a 2K budget i would still spend that extra cash elsewhere before putting the GPU up ATM.

@sibun1 Pointless putting a spec that doesn't include the Strix as the OP wants the Strix so you would need to put the Strix in and then downgrade other areas to make room for it.

Then he's being foolish. I'm sorry but its that simple.
Budget/Rest of build and Timing both strongly, strongly scream its a bad idea.
