I ordered a PC including an rtx 3060 ti and was just wondering if i amended the PC with, for example, a different SSD, would that put me to the back of the queue for the rtx 3060 ti? Im pretty sure this wouldnt be the case but just wanted to make sure as you guys know how bad the waiting times are for these cards are already! :) Full specs below if anyone has any advice :)

Nope! builds are done by order date and time so it's effectively a first come first serve basis, so you wouldn't lose your place. Have you had your system looked over by the forum?

No worries! Thanks for the spec! A few questions, what's your budget? What monitor will you be using with it (either make and model or resolution AND refresh rate) and what are you using it for? If gaming, what sort of games will you be playing?

Also a configurable link would be very useful so we're able to make changes! Link on how to here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/foru...ification-to-the-forum-check-this-spec.73718/

My budget is around £1,300. Currently the PC is £1,130. I'll primarily be using this system for gaming on a 1080p 60Hz monitor with some 3D modelling on the side using blender. In terms of games I plan on playing pretty much everything, Cyberpunk is my main focus right now though!

Also here's a configurable link to the system: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/m7cU46SjTh/

As previously mentioned I changed the case to a coolermaster TD500, the RAM to 3600mhz and the SSD to a M.2 SSD. For some reason these changes werent showing in the link for me!

Frustratingly the case doesn't show up on my configurator (there seems to always be an issue with it) but this is the spec I'd go for. First off, the 3060TI is over specced and it will be bottlenecked by your monitor as this card is designed to support 144hz 1440p in most games. Luckily NVIDIA is releasing the 3060 which would be a better fit and hopefully save you some money on the 25th. I'd recommend being quick with this card as I'm sure it'll go very quickly. It might be worth doing no changes until you have this card so then we know what budget we have to work with. But for now, I'll continue.

As you may see, I haven't changed the CPU as I felt there were other parts that needed the budget more. Plus the 3600 is still a very good CPU, also, I'd recommend adding an AIO cooler to the 5600X which would increase the price by 200 for just the CPU and AIO

Changes:
-Removed the WIFI motherboard and replaced with TUF B550 and wifi card, it's £1 more expensive but adds bluetooth
-Taken the RAM back to 3200 as in games there won't be a huge difference and it's an easy way to save money
-I've changed the SSD to a 1TB as I feel you would've found 500GB very limiting, especially with interests in games like Cyberpunk. Windows is around 40gb and Cyber punk is about 60 so that would be 1/5 of your storage gone already, assuming they add nothing to CP
-Increased the wattage of the PSU by 100. Always a good idea to spend on the PSU as it futureproofs it for upgrades and will allow it to work less hard, increasing it's life cycle
-Added the WiFi/ BT card discussed earlier

If you are moving from a system that has Windows 10 and that system won't be used after, you are able to copy the copy of windows across to the New PC, this is very easy and can save a lot of money (about £85). If this is possible for your situation, I'd highly recommend.

Thank you for your suggestions! I will be 100% honest I dont think I’m going to change my graphics card as I am quite scared that I won’t be able to change it in time 😅 I am very busy and can’t be 100% sure I’ll be online at the right time when it releases! Also I chose the 3060 ti because I want to keep this graphics card for many years to come and I think even though it may be over specced now it will last longer than a normal 3060.

Also, I forgot to mention this earlier but the reason I’m going for only 500GB m.2 is because I’m going to use the M.2 as a boot drive, I already have a 1TB SSD with windows 10 installed which I plan on putting into this PC :).

I will take your advice on the motherboard for Bluetooth and PSU improvement though! Thank you for taking the time to configure my build and I really appreciate your input :)

That's totally fair about the graphics card and you're right, having a 60TI means you're less likely to need a GPU upgrade if you decide to get a better monitor!

Ahh fantastic, that's great. On the 500GB SSD, I'd highly recommend going for the PCS M.2, it's slightly slower but is £70 less for the same amount of storage! It also sounds like you already have a copy of Windows which will also save you a lot of money. If this is the case, the savings on the M.2 and the Copy of Windows add up to a lot which you could spend elsewhere

For £1,303 (although it might be more depending on the price of your case) you could change the PSU to an even better RMx 850W unit which is another step up from the TXm and the 5600X you were after. (although I would recommend upgrading the AIO cooler at some point down the road) https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/W6wMYEygSS/

For £1,330 You could have the less expensive PSU (TXm 750) and instead the Liquid cooler which would do a better job at cooling the 5600X CPU https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/s3kX4FEMzP/

Or for £1,350 you could have all 3! (more expensive PSU, the 5600X CPU and the AIO cooler) https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/saved-configurations/amd-am4-gen3-pc/Xgt08zFZjP/

Sorry if this is all very confusing but think I've done a good job of explaning it. If you still have questions feel free to ask and let me know what you go for!

You’ve been more than helpful man thank you very much! 🙏🏽 and yes dont worry everything you said was easy to understand 😁

I was considering getting the PCS M.2 but I feel like the lifespan of the Samsung one would be better?

I will likely upgrade the CPU with an AIO cooler though as you recommended! Which AIO would you recommend getting? Going to wait until I get paid first but I’ll keep you updated either here or via message :)

I'm glad to hear! Honestly about the PCS M.2, I don't know. The Samsung may last longer but I wouldn't be able to tell you with 100% certainty. I know there are many users who are very happy with them, @Martinr36 being one of them, he might be able to tell you more?

For CPU cooler I'd recommend the Cooler Master Master Cool 240 Lite, it'll do a great job on the 5600X! And for sure keep me/ us updated!

I've got a total of 3 of the 1TB PCS M.2, 2 in my desktop and 1 in the laptop, had no problem with them, when i spec a PC depending on budget I'll normally spec one of the samsung for the primary drive, then the PCS one for Games, buit6 if budget doesn't allow for a samsung at primary I'll spec the 500GB PCS M.l2 instead

The PCS drives are astoundingly good for the budget.

The Samsungs are obviously better with higher speeds but if your budget doesn't reach, the PCS drives are still very good.

I am thinking of changing the CPU to a Ryzen 5 5600x with a be quiet pure rock 2 to install myself and changing the M.2 to a 500 GB samsung evo. Please note I already have a 1TB ssd for all my games and such, the M.2 would be a boot drive.

Yeah I made a new post to get some more opinions on my build and for some reason a mod moved my post into this one! 🤷🏽‍♂️

They will do, the idea being that other customers can see the whole thought process and understand the "journey" as it were.
