Need a monitor to go with this spec

This is going to be multipurpose for everyday use with some photo and video editing, fairly basic occasional gaming, etc. I wanted a flat* screen. On my previous pc the monitor is 21". I had recommended a monitor which is 27" but my wife has laid down the law and doesn't want anything too large where it is. So the compromise is 24" ideally.
Any suggestions would be welcome. I have fairly basic mouse, keyboard and speakers still in this spec so thoughts on those would also be appreciated. Budget would be around £250. I should add that the photo and video editing is just for personal use, holiday snaps etc so I don't need a completely colour accurate screen.

*amended after I did some further digging. I had been bought into the info about curved monitors but have revised my opinion.

I was doing some digging. This one I found is a little bigger than originally intended but seems OK and had a decent review on a photo editing website. Any thoughts as a decent all round monitor to go with my build?

The only difference between that model and the slightly more expensive 27UL550, is the cheaper model‘s stand is tilt only, so doesn’t offer height or pivot adjustment.

But your GPU is not a 4K card, so you’d have to reduce the gaming resolution or graphical settings (either of which may not look great).

However, LG do similar monitors in 1440p resolution too…e.g. 27GN800P-B, 27GL83A-B, 27GP850-B…but as they’re newer models they’re actually more expensive than the 4k models 🤷

Unfortunately, all of the 24” monitors I can find are 1080p resolution, so there’s a choice to be made / argument to have ;)

Bear in mind I've been managing with a 21" screen for years. 😀
I said earlier I didn't need compete colour accuracy but obviously when I'm working with video and photographs it would help. It's also true that I just play occasional games. I bought a laptop a couple of years ago in which to play games but if this happens to give a better experience then I could certainly find myself playing games on this now and again. The laptop is 1080p resolution and 144Hz, but is of course a smaller screen. It doesn't make sense to me to buy a monitor for the new pc which gives a worse experience than that gaming.
When I've been digging it appears that there's generally a trade off. The best colour accurate monitors generally have a low refresh rate like 60 or 75Hz. The monitors with higher refresh rates tend to have lower colour accuracy. If I increase mu budget I could potentially go for something like the monitor I have listed below but I'm wondering if I'm overthinking this. I've been doing my photo editing on a monitor I bought 12 years ago which certainly wasn't an expensive monitor at the time. I didn't put any of this thought into it. The results with my photos have seemed fine. Maybe I should just opt for a decent monitor to give a reasonable gaming performance and everything else would be fine on the back of that. I think someone maybe just needs to give me a slap. 😀
Anyway this is the monitor I found that is priced over my original budget. It is 1440p, 165Hz refresh rate, it is an IPS monitor which I read gives better colour consistency across the screen, and it says it has typical 98% DCI P3 with a minimum of 90%. It has decent reviews.
If anyone has any decent suggestions that brings me within my budget or has any thoughts on this particular monitor then I'm grateful for the help.

If you want to 'geek out' then Hardware Unboxed / Monitors Unboxed do a good range of monitor reviews (mainly focused on gaming monitors), but do go into more detail of how close to their advertised specs you'll see in normal use.

Thanks. Looking at that review it seems like a decent monitor. I just need to decide whether to pull the trigger on that.

I have the older GL version of that monitor, they are pretty good, more than happy with mine, used mainly for photo and video editing which is why i bought it due to its pretty good sRGB cover, also a bit of gaming.
