Need help building a laptop

Hello, my knowledge on laptops isn't that great, I was wondering if someone could help me find or choose a laptop. I've had my last laptop from here and it lasted me around 6years.
My budget is around £1500. I could push it higher if needed. I'm looking for a laptop that can run high end gaming.

What do you want to do with it? have any mobility or weight requirements (do you need to be able to take it with you places, or a desktop replacement so never going to be moved?)

Let us know, sure we can help

Thanks for the reply

Cool, well if you want AMD (desktop class) processors then have a look at the 15.6" NOVA, they can be configured with decent setups. For example a 3700X with 2070, 16Gb 2666 and 1Tb 860evo comes in around your price mark, if you already have a Windows license against your Microsoft account remember you can remove the Windows license from the order and save a few bob, perhaps goto 32Gb ram instead (although for Gaming 16Gb is perfectly adequate) Without Windows it's £1408 (with Silver warranty), however get in touch with them as seems to be out of stock at the moment, might be worth asking when it's back.

If you want Intel, then Vyperor or Defiance is probably the best place to go, I've ordered a Vyper 17 (need bigger screen for bad eyes! and wanted bigger battery), and you can spec something pretty much the same as the AMD one, just with the 10875H instead of the 3700X.

The defiance with similar spec (although MaxQ variant of 2070) will run you £1600 or so, the Vyper the same but will have the 2070 full fat instead of the MaxQ, so a trade of in battery life between those two.

Obv these are without a Windows License (which you can probably transfer from your current machine see https://www.windowscentral.com/how-link-your-windows-10-product-key-microsoft-account)

If you do need a Windows license, you can still look at buying one online, as might be cheaper if you can find a deal than getting it from PCS, but maybe not if no deals about.

Hope that helps

It worth getting the 32gb of ram? Also what's the difference between the network cards?

Thanks for the help so, hope not being too much a numb question 😂

Doubt you will see any difference to the networking, think they are both BT5 and AX aren't they, just one has the 'killer' software, wouldn't worry about that.

I think the desktop replacement machines already have the upgraded thermal paste. As for 32gb, upto you, but 16gb is the current 'sweet spot' for gaming machines, and you can always pop a couple of 16gb sodim in later to up it to 32gb if you want, perhaps pop faster ones in whilst at it if the board supports faster ram (not sure, but faster = better on AMD cpu's more so than Intel)

Besides that looks decent, sure @Spider123 might be able to point anything else out that he thinks of

Arh okay. I'll just get the standard one then. For the ram, I'll see on payday (end of month) if I can afford it. It better to get the 2x16gb or just the 1x32gb?

Okay I'll probably get that ram then... Im gonna save some money on the windows key, with the money I'm saving is it worth upping the cpu? As I'm looking for this laptop to last me another 6yr +
