Need Help Deciding PC SPECS

Hey PC Specialists of the Forum,
I have a budget of £1500- £1600, I edit in Premiere Pro, and I do complex video editing, I also play video games and would like high fps, such as Apex Legends and Valorant. Could you please suggest some ideas as to what specs I should choose, I am fine with Intel or AMD, and I would prefer a higer GPU such as a 3060 or higher.
Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Ice Boundation!

I'd suggest giving this a read and answering some of the questions it raises re budget , monitors etc

Hello, I am Ice Boundation. I need help on getting a PC, here is some info:
I don't need any peripherals, exept one, which I have already bought.
It is the AOC C24G1 24" Curved Frameless Gaming Monitor
Specs:
Panel Curvature: 1800R
Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Display Resolution : 1920x1080
Screen Size: 24 Inches
Display Type: LED
Item Dimensions: 21.14 x 9.64 x 20.19 inches
Mounting Type: PC
Refresh Rate: 144 Hertz
Size: 24" FHD Curved
Response Time: 1 MS
Connectivity: 2 x HDMI 1.4, 1 x DisplayPort, VGA, 3.5mm audio out

Uses:
This system will have a lot of uses, I want to become a Streamer/Youtuber/ Editor. So because of this,
I need a system which has enough power to be able to stream properly, but also record games well, with
minmal lag and a good resolution. The games which would be streamed/ recorded would be games such
as Apex, Valorant, Minecraft etc. But the main purpose of this system would be editing, I have
a Editing buisness, and I have a bad pc currently, so I need a very good PC, being able to handle Adobe
Software such as Premiere and Photoshop.

My Budget is £1500 to £1600, personally I want a very good experience in most things,
but i'd like to be the system to be strong with Ram, and have a good graphics card and CPU.
I don't really need external storage as I already have a 1TB storage drive, so like 500MB would be alright.
I don't mind what companies the different parts are from, but I'd prefer it to be an AMD Build.

Please help me on this topic!

This would do the job nicely. Storage is lacking a little but you can use your external for now and then get an additional 1TB/2TB M.2 drive later and that will slot in for some excellent fast storage for editing projects and games 👍

Sorry not cooler lmao, the power supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
Ah, I see. An RMx unit is the best kind available, fully modular, semi-passive and they tend to last forever.

Overspeccing on the suggested wattage is a move for the future; say if you wanted to upgrade your GPU in a few years time, there’s a strong possibility that power requirements will have gone in an upward trajectory. If you’d picked a PSU that was only rated for 550w and your new card had a requirement of 750w you’d be faced with changing the whole power supply, which is not one of life’s most fun jobs.

Spend an extra few quid now and save yourself a fair bit of hassle in a couple of years. Future you will thank present you (which at that stage, will actually be past you) for doing that 🙂👍

What is the difference between ram, for example why is there 2x8 and 1x16, what is the difference?
If I want 32GB of Ram, what is the best arrangment?

The difference is about the number of ranks available. It's generally why Dual Channel or 2x8 would perform better than 1x16 as it would have more ranks for the RAM to work with.

If you wanted 32GB of RAM and no more the best setup would likely be 4x8 GB sticks. Not always the case and it varies from RAM manufacturer to manufacturer but at 32GB usually 4x8GB is the way to go unless for a specific reason

It's a fairly complex question but we can absolutely say that two sticks is pretty much always better than one stick. Performance difference between 2 Sticks and 4 Sticks can be conditional and depends on the purposes so the waters tend to muddy a bit there

Close, but it's to do with the number of BANKS available. :)

Ranks are the number of 64-bit addressable areas on a single memory module. Banks are the number of memory modules. 2x8GB means two banks of 8GB modules (which could in turn have single, double, or higher ranks). See https://www.crucial.com/support/articles-faq-memory/what-is-a-memory-rank#:~:text=A memory rank is a,data block 72 bits wide.

I think it would cook in that case, your best bet is to go with @AgentCooper build, also the RAM is slow which is going to cripple the CPU as they like a minimum of 3200, the cooler also isn't sufficient, I'd also change the wireless card to AX200 which is dual band and has bluetooth
