Need help with specs thanks

Hey

So I’ve put together the following PC coming in at just under £2.5k with £2.5k being the maximum I would like to go for though there is some flexibility.

The main purpose of the pc is to be able to edit photos and videos through a combination of adobe software and using da Vinci with a side hobby of gaming (mostly city builders like farthest frontier, cities skyline 2 etc). I would also hope that the specs are “future proofed” as in I want the pc to last 7+ years.

Is this a good combination of components?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Hi, the current monitor I have is the Samsung LU28r550U 28” 4K 60hz. I will be looking to upgrade or get a second monitor in the future.

My only suggestions would be related to cpu cooler, psu and ram.

64gb seems a bit overkill to me, but not sure how much ram your applications would benefit from. You could also always get 32gb now (with 2 sticks) and upgrade later since the mobo has 4 slots as it's a very easy upgrade (basically plug and play). I would also prefer to have a faster memory (at least 6000), since the difference in price is very small (for your budget).

The cooler is definitely too weak for a 14700k that can boost up to 250w or more. I would go for something like a 240mm or even a 360mm aio.

And on psu side, you're just on the limit with 850w. Since you're talking about something for the long term and you're able to spend that much on a pc anyway, 1000w psu would be a no trainer to me with just another small bump in price.

Hey thanks for the response. I’ll bump up the psu and ram memory.

Only question I have is about the cooler and which ones I should be looking at from the drop down list? Coolers aren’t a component I know anything about 😅

Thanks

Depends on your budget and how far you're willing to stretch it. My suggestion would be a 360 AIO, so any corsair H150I would be great. If that's too much, maybe a 280mm would also be ok? Which would then mean any of the H115I options from corsair. But if want to cheap out on the cooler a bit more, then any other option that PCS is rating for 250W would be enough for you (likely with more noise as a drawback) and definitely a lot better than the one you currently have selected, which would make your CPU overheat under load.
