I thought I would outline my order, changes and experience.
I was desperate for a new PC and I got the green light from the bride. Knowing nothing about modern setups I did lots of reading, learned pretty much nothing and drove myself to distraction. Anyone who can remember teletext holidays, like that, but worse.
Anyway, I found PC specialist, looked on the forums, sought advice, received continual and ongoing fantastic advice and ended up with a spec that, I ordered.
The original order included a 5900X and a 3080 gpu (I actually upped the original spec that I landed on). I watched the forums and read some more and it was clear to me the 3080 is just a nightmare in terms of availability, not sure so much about the 5900x? I got to 29 days which, I know is not long compared to lots and needed to make a decision. I looked at changing specs and what may be in stock, I took the plunge and changed to a 5800X and 6800XT.
It went into build the next day. 4 days later I had my machine. And what a machine.
So........its the 5800X, 6800XT, 32 gig if 3600 RAM, 850 power supply, corsair cooler and couple of M2 drives and a HDD.
After much debate I also purchased a G9.
It is absolutely nailing Flight Sim 2020, I have EVERYTHING maxed, airport add ons installed, run it on VATSIM, the fly by wire a320 neo, liveries etc etc. Ive thrown everything I can at it and its smooth as butter. Ive tested at New York (usually kills the best of pc's), London / Heathrow, Tokyo, the lot. It's insane how good it is.
And here it is. I'd just note that as its located where it is, it does have proper ventilation in the cupboard due to my modifications and fitting of a fan to the cupboard!
Hope that helps in some way. I am over the moon with PC Specialist, the machine, the experience and the help of people on here. Thank you.
