New AM5 Boot Issues

From the video, the system isn't shutting down, you're saying it's starting up with a black screen, but there's no post beep until you've force shut it down, so it's never restarted, so never got to actually shutting down. The screen losing signal is simply because the display driver has been quit, but it's never actually shutting down.

But I can see the Q-LEDS cycle as part of booting, in this case, it stays stuck at DRAM (the yellow going by my MB Manual) and nothing progresses. I also hear the fans ramp up like they do when I ever start my PC up before it gets to Windows.

To be 100% clear.

I select "Shut Down" from the start menu and everything is fine. PC turns off and I press the power button and starts up perfectly.

I select "Restart" from the start menu and the PC did not start back up, it stayed stuck at the Post Cycle, did not get far enough to POST, get to BIOS Splash Screen, no vid signal. Only got as far DRAM going by the Q-LEDs.

"Shut Down" uses Fast Startup

"Restart" is an actual full reset no Fast Startup involved.

Sorry, just wanna by super clear. And thank you for your help btw, I do appreciate it.

Ill Leave it up to you, can only advise on PC basics, it’s common knowledge, even on asus site as per the link I posted previously.

The Symptoms are typical when these settings are not disabled on a desktop, they’re legacy settings that are no longer relevant and known to cause these issues.

All the best with it, once those are done if it’s still occurring it may point to a BIOS issue.

I happened to run across this reddit post with a similar same issue btw.
I did consider XMP / EXPO but according to the error screenshot it’s set at 4200mhz, so EXPO isn’t enabled

But perhaps that’s because it’s in safe mode, which is why I was trying to get you to enter the BIOS, but you don’t explain why you couldn’t access it.

Just wanted to give a quick update. Over the last few days this issue seemed to resolve itself.

I've had no issues with restarting and no issues with Updates as it installed the latest version of Windows last night with no issues.

RAM is also fine, it's 5600 set by DOCP since I got it. Takes about 30-33 seconds to boot but I'm used to that by now.

Not sure if it was just an update that failed somehow that caused all this and not sure why it's resolved but it seems fine now.

I'll liley do a fresh installed of Windows 11 when I have a chance just to make sure.

Think I've currently got this issue. Interesting that it went away. Mine went away with reseting the CMOS but has now come back. Have you got ICUE?

So funny enough, after seeing your post today I checked and it seems like ICUE just stopped working at some point. Files were there, it was still technically installed but wouldn't run.

No idea how long it has been like that, it's only there for the AIO tbh so I never pay it any attention. I've had some issues over the years with ICUE, it can just suddenly act up and usually a full reinstall was the best option.

So I reinstalled it just now. If I have any issues with restarting again I'll post here.
