My guess is they mounted it on the front because of the RAM clearance causing issues placing it on the roof.
BUT, IMHO, it would be worth trying to mount it on the roof.
It's not the best designed PC, the case, motherboard and cooler are not a good match for the processor or the rest of the components.
Unfortunately it's high end GPU and CPU without the platform to support it, so temps are never going to be optimal.

That’s great to hear after a pcs employee put this order together for me and “recommended” this set up
Can you educate me on how this is the case? I’m not that tech savvy, should the build have been different

Not without teaching you an awful lot about pc architecture.
Basically, with that processor you need top end VRMs to be able to run it properly. The Strix will probably “do” but the hero would have been a better fit. You also need a minimum of a 280mm radiator, but preferably a 360mm, so the h150 capellix would have been the cooler. The whole build is high end, all packed into a mid range case. You really need a case about double the cost to effectively cool it. PSU is absolutely bare minimum as well, I would have gone 1000w

You trust the techies when asking for advice on tech.
But if you’re buying you don’t get the privilege of that do you, you speak to sales who clearly don’t know what they’re talking about, and pcs ethics maybe need a review, if they’re happy to keep selling sub par systems hyped up as being capable, how many other customers may be in the same situation, not a good business model is it, especially not these days. I will take it up with them and see what their resolution is
