The question is, with the new 5000 series CPU release on 5th of Nov, which one would you recommend to go into this build??

With delays to 3080 and with me heading away for work in 10 days time and unlikely to be home for the above build being completed, I have spoken to PCS and will more than likely delay build and delivery until the end of Nov, no point on having it sitting around in the box gathering dust lol

The equivalent processor would be the 5800x which will be awesome for gaming.

The rest looks sound to me :)

I've got a similar build on order. I've gone into my order details and asked PCS not to dispatch it until at least the 15th of November. Plenty of time for me to switch to the 5800X (might go 5900X as I do have the budget for it), and I should still get it next month.

Cheers @SpyderTracks and @ActuallyDenz, the 5800x as a minimum.

I can see me doing the same with my order, makes sense really lol

You guys know how much difference the price will be to add either the 5800X or 5900X??

Cheers in advance

Same thing I’ve done. Mines on hold at the building phase now. When they become available in the configurator I’ll swap out the 3900x for the 5900x.

Think this might be a sneak peak at the pricing. Higher than I expected, I must admit.

I was guessing around £500, so that is a little higher than I was expecting. Still, there's time for others to put out their prices and Overclockers may change theirs.

Hmmmm.... that is higher than I was expecting too, but apparently the 5900x will be in short supply initially so I don't think prices are reflective of when demand normalises.

I'm in a fortunate position where it's completely a want that I have for the chip. I'm happy to wait until everything normalises before forking out for a build. I'm thinking I'll hold off till January as hopefully there will be the X670 by then which will lower the X570s (eye watering for the Strix Models at the moment).

Everything is overpriced and all component supplies are stretched. I just had a nosey around for an RM850i and there's slim pickings..... and they are overpriced. PCS are real value for money with some of the parts that they sell.

Yeah, I’m waiting til next year too, would like x670 also, think that’s going to be quite a special platform given all the other bombs AMD has dropped on us over the last 2 years. Perhaps improved pathways for direct storage access, better VRMs and perhaps even 2.5gb LAN?
