Hello All,

About 6 months ago I asked for advice for a new desktop and ended up getting what was recommended, this time its time for my partner to upgrade to a desktop so Im leaving this one to her and getting a similar one and again mainly for gaming, the only thing i regreat from the below setup is the MK2 disk I should have got the 1Terrabyte one instead so thats a essencial on the new one.

On top of all the below i got a curved monitor

Of course technology and prices are always evolving and changing, so I would like to know if you would change anything from the below for a new setup other than the M.K2 disk.

Just to get this clear:
- you have a desktop PC that you are giving to your partner
- the spec above is the one you are buying, and you will be gaming on it
- you are going to game on a 1440p ultrawide monitor with an RX 580 (?!)

For gaming the R7 3700x is overkill and the Strix motherboard is a waste of money. And the CPU cooler is super expensive, the Coolermaster Lite 240 is more than fine.

You'd be better off with an R5 3600, a B450 motherboard, and putting the savings into an RX 5700 XT GPU so you have a GPU fitting for the very demanding load of 1440p ultrawide gaming.

yes, the one below is the one Im giving to my partner, she needs a lot of space but 1T is enough and i might upgrade her disk to a M.K2 in the future, she works a lot with video and image editing software and some architectual stuff so quite heavy programs but if her laptop does the job this computer should be more than enough

- the spec above is the one you are buying, and you will be gaming on it

this is the one i bought about 6 months ago if theres anything better in terms of quality/price is more than welcome and yes, I will be mostly gaming in it.

so far this one has done the job, there has been a few issues but nothing major, the idea was overtime to upgrade the graphics card but its only been 6 months so was not necessary so far but if im getting a new rig, im open to ideas/setups. (also looking for a 34 inch ultrawide monitor.

Sorry, I think I'm even more confused tbh :)

Maybe if we ignore the spec you already have ,and the giving of X to Y, since that doesn't really matter for what you need now (?).

What do you need? Just a gaming PC for you, no streaming to Twitch or anything?

What monitor are you gaming on?

Is this a monitor you already own, or are yet to buy?

What's the budget for the new PC and its new monitor combined?

Sorry for confusing you, was trying to be specific to be more helpfull, clearly failed in doing that.

Yes, PC for gaming, no streaming or twich or anything like that, literally just gaming.

Regarding the monitor, im using the one i mentioned, which im thinking of getting the same, unless theres a better option. (so yet still to buy)

Budget for PC WITH monitor combined is £1800 absolutely MAX.

& thank you for you help in advance :D

The case is way more expensive than you need, but I picked it purely on the basis of matching his/hers
The H500 would slice off £80.
R5 3600 and B450 motherboard is all you need for straight gaming. The R7 in the spec going to your partner will benefit them for their video editing work, but for gaming, one's as good as the next, and the 3600 is much cheaper.
The RX 5700 XT would be a good match for 1440p ultrawide.

For alternative monitor options, have a look at:

esp 34" MSI Optix MAG341CQ

Sounds good!! Thank you for that, really appreciate it.

I would remove the windows since i already have original license, so no point spending extra ££

Regarding the Case, do you think its worth the price ? I find it a very very expensive case, it does look nice and all but still.

For a gaming PC of this level, I'd say it's not worth it, from a performance point of view. It does look very nice as you say.

A good bang for buck case would be the H500, with tempered glass, RGB fans, and good cooling. Fractal R6 if you want a more sedate aesthetic.
