Only thing I'd say is that it's possible to have too many fans. Now it'll not hurt performance but it will make the system a lot louder

Other than that get a 4K monitor, no point wasting a machine like this at 1440p when it's capable of doing so much more easily

Thanks for the reply, I am planning on getting a 4K monitor just not right away, If I did decide to stick with 1440P though where would you suggest I make some changes?

The GPU is massively over specced for 1440p, you could get away with a 3060Ti but a 3070 would be ideal for 1440p

The 4080 will barely get used at all at 1440p it's wildly overpowered for that resolution. It depends when you plan to upgrade to a 4K monitor if it's a few months then fine stick with the 4080 but if you're planning a year+ at 1440p don't bother with a 4080

Ok thanks for your input, I managed to snag a Neo G7 so I guess I'll be sticking with the 4080 :) any thoughts on the cases, 5000D airflow vs 5000X?

5000X comes with extra fans and a Corsair Commander which is a £50 piece of kit so I think it's worth it. Although I do really like the front panel for the 5000D I think it looks great

Both are excellent choices, they are the same case the 5000X just comes with more and a different front panel

If you were concerned at all about limiting airflow with the glass front panel on the 5000x, the panels are interchangeable so you can pick up the 5000d airflow front for about £15. I think that works out cheaper than sticking the same fans and controller in the 5000d airflow. I think the difference in airflow is marginal though so wouldn't worry about it too much.

Hey, I've changed the build a bit. Is there anything you guys can spot that's missing or isn't really needed?
Will be used for gaming on a 4K monitor (Neo G7)

Thanks :)

There's a hell of a lot there that's not "needed". The following items are overkill:
  • motherboard (the Tuf X670E is plenty)
  • graphics card (the 7900 XTX would be the sensible choice IMO)
  • 2nd SSD (though defensible IMO)
  • 3rd SSD (what's it for?)
  • PSU cables (pretty but unnecessary)
  • extra fans (you have 6 or 7 already)
That would save you ~£800 without materially affecting performance. (The graphics card is a bit slower, but it's way better value.) If you want to spend the extra on those elements, fair enough, but you said "isn't really needed" -- and those things aren't!
