Hello everyone,

6 years ago I bought a pc from pc specialist (intel i7 4790 with gtx 970) which has held up very well. But now I am looking to finally upgrade.

Unfortunately I don't have the greatest experience/knowledge on picking parts for a computer so I was wondering if there is any suggestions on a build on here.

My max budget is roughly £2200. My monitor is irrelevant as I have a separate budget to buy a monitor that suits the specs of the build.
My current PC is very quiet (which I love) and I would love for my next PC to be the same.

Ok what is the computer going to be used for, and what's the monitor budget that you have, knowing this will help in matching the build to the monitor, also we'll be able to make monitor recommendations.

£2200 is a reasonable budget to work with

What's your budget for the monitor as that will influence the build?

Is it purely for gaming or any streaming included?

I'd suggest either the AOC CU34G2X (ideally) or the Gigabyte G34WQC. Both are UWQHD (3440x1440) monitors that run at 144Hz. I believe (open to correction) that they're actually the same panel, but AOC's design/ergonomics are much better.

Either would be a great fit for the 3070 Ti.

If you really don't want an ultrawide (why not? They're amazing!) you could look at the Asus VQ27AQ or the LG 27GL850, or the upcoming new version of the Samsung G5. There are others that are a bit cheaper (eg the AOC Q27G2U or its curved equivalent, or the older Samsung G5) but they're not quite as good as these excellent IPS displays.

(I'd still go for the ultrawide.)

I would either opt for Ultrawide or 4K for the 3070ti. If you just want a standard 1440p panel then I would expect to pay £250-£400 for the monitor and look to pair it with the 3060Ti rather than the 3070 (Overpowered). Unfortunately the 3060Ti is out of stock due to its popularity but all depends if you are happy to spend the extra money to save the waiting. Lots of options with such a great budget :)

I am getting very close to ordering now, I just have a couple final questions.
I have read online that the 3070ti runs very hot, will this build be sufficient enough to cool it?
And secondly, would it not be beneficial to upgrade to the 3600mhz ram for what looks like less than a £10 upgrade?

The build is sound. Between the built in fans and the extraction of the AIO your airflow will be optimal and help keep the 3070Ti running at optimal as well.

The 3600 RAM is a fair choice as long as you're willing to pay the extra cash and nothing else is going to be lowered to make space for it :)
