New home office build

Good morning all.

It has been a while since I have updated my PC.
My own business will be paying for it, so corporation tax will come off the top, so in essence 25% less than list price
I am looking for some guidance on my following build.
Will be running a 49inch monitor.
Usage will be data analysis - no Video editing etc
I will be running videos in the background whilst working
A lot of data is moved between hard drive, one drive, scanner to desktop etc
I am reliant on powerlines to connect
Looking to future proof

Not used for gaming

What sort of data analysis is it? Are we talking number crunching kind of thing? I am just wondering if a dedicated graphics card is actually needed...if there is no graphical analysis etc, then you could likely make do with the integrated graphics from the CPU and put more into the CPU itself.

You mentioned the tax but not the maximum budget we have to work with

Thank you for the prompt reply.
It is cashflow modelling alongside multiple spreadsheet/data sources
A graphics card was put on to power the 49-inch monitor running background videos with my work

You don’t need a dedicated card for that, can save yourself quite a lot of cash, on board graphics will do that no problem

Removing the GPU frees up plenty of cash. I imagine something like this should work...newer platform, better platform (Intel are not too good these days)...could do witha second opinion from someone as data processing etc is not my area of expertise:

The network stuff: Wasn't sure on the network card as the motherboard already has the 2.5G port (unless you needed a second one?). The Wi-fi card I also wasn't sure on as I thought you needed a wired connection with powerlines? If so, then the Wi-Fi card would be redundant...but maybe I am misunderstanding Powerlines?

Thanks, Spyder, I think I may be glorifying my job!

It is data pulled from Excel, and online data - personal details, investments, income etc. So, not computational analysis.

The cash flow modelling does churn through a bit of processing power when running some elements of its application, but nothing too harsh.

I wanted an onboard Wi-Fi to link up Wifi printer, if it has onboard then that is great. I only use powerlines due to wifi signal being poor in the office, but I am speaking to VM about boosting this anyhow

if this is overload, please feel free to reduce to what you guys would deem suitable.

WiFi printer connects to your router, not the laptop, then the laptop prints to it via the router

what software are you using for this?

Depends on the printer, as my 5 year old Epson XP860 and my dad's 10 year old HP has something called WiFi Direct, which doesn't require a router.

I don't use it though, as I connect via USB ;)
