New laptop, budget 1.5k

Hello, finally decided to get an upgrade from my 6 year old Laptop I bought from here before, could someone have a look to see if this seems fine as a build? My budget is 1550£! I'm not super techy like other people in the forum, so I'd just like someone's approval just in case I did something wrong or I could make better improvements.

I will always have my battery plugged in so power isn't an issue, I've been very used to playing games on a low resolution, and honestly if I can play No Man's Sky at the highest setting, I'll be happy. I plan to use this laptop for at least 5 years like I did with my last one.

I assume that your main use case will be for gaming?
Does the laptop need to be portable?

Main use will be for gaming, it only needs to be portable in a sense where I need to move it around my house but I wouldn't bring it outside of my house. I have no interest in a PC due to various reasons.

My recommendation would be for you to save up some more money so that you can get a 1440p build as 1080p is pretty old hat these days. If that isn't an option though the build I have posted below will be will be an incredibly strong 1080p gaming rig.

I personally do not rate the Destian or DTR's at all these days. The latest generation of mobile processors are incredibly capable and with a DTR you are essentially just wasting money on what I personally see as bragging rights (unless you carry out extremely CPU intensive multi core work loads).

Thank you so so much for the swift reply and advice, just to clarify since I'm not super techy, does it not matter that much between 3060/3070? Again I don't play super intensive games and would just like a laptop that can last me for 4-5 years!

No problems, happy to help.

What games do you play?

Your budget basically locks you into a laptop with a resolution of 1920x1080. At that resolution a RTX 3060 will be an absolute beast. You do not need anything more. If we were looking at laptops with a resolution of 2560x1440p I would say you need a 3070 or higher.

Again though this will also impact the games you play.

Haha, mainly roguelikes really! No Man's Sky, Risk of Rain 2 is probably the most graphically intensive one? It seems like I don't need a 3070 in that case, as I don't really mind the resolution. If I decide to get a PC one day, I'll go for 1440p setup!
