FINALLY!

Still in beta, anyone is free to join the beta now.

Firstly, no logon required so that’s a huge win!

Now it’s experience and all the tools plus control panel all in one app!

I don't use Geforce Experience at all, so will I have to install this whole thing just to get my driver now
(or keep using NVCleaninstall instead) (y)

Nvidia has slapped a fresh coat of paint on its software suite with a brand new utility called the 'Nvidia App' that unifies the ancient Nvidia Control Panel and newer GeForce Experience applications. The new app will merge all of Nvidia's outgoing applications into one unified interface for easier navigation. The app is available in beta form and can be downloaded now.

It's finally out of Beta, official v1.0 version out today!

I've had used it since shortly after it was released until I moved to Linux, the Beta was already extremely stable and they just gradually unlocked features.

I would 100% recommend upgrading, it's far far better all around and you don't need to login!!

Agreed, I've been using it since shortly after it was released and have found it to be stable, responsive and easy to navigate. In fact, it was that stable I didn't even realise it was still in Beta.

Completely agree, it was as good as a fully fledged app stability wise, just set it and forget it.

I don’t bother with any of the extra stuff in GeForce Experience (so don’t have it installed), so not sure it will offer me anything over the Nvidia control panel, but if it lets me install a slimmed down version that simply offers the components I want (I.e. driver updates & the options available in the control panel, and not install the ‘experience’ part of automatic game optimisation, game overlays, GPU overclocking) then I’m all for a less clunky interface.

It's one chonkers with everything, not split like it used to be, but all around it's just a far better app.

How you getting on with that card? Any driver crashes?
None that I'm aware of.
Nvidia seems to release a Game Ready driver update every couple of weeks. It isn't unusual for a driver update to cause some problems with Days Gone, usually fairly minor but occasionally quite major. I expect that other games are affected too. The next update usually fixes the problems.
I've had a few minor issues myself from Nvidia updates.
Nothing like that has happened with AMD updates, which are much less frequent.

I probably wouldn't even notice a couple of FPS drop, but I didn’t rely on GFEx ‘optimised settings’ anyway as they tended to recommend stuff that added nothing to the visual quality (to my rheumy eyes) but degraded the smoothness just to showcase ’new features’.

But he forgot to test it with 4 different AV products installed on top of one another 😁
