It's too early to say, but I'm minded to say return it.

Obviously you'd contact PCS first, maybe there's a new version of CCC or a BIOS update available / in the pipeline that would resolve these matters.

But it's not meeting the CPU frequencies that I would expect it to. And I'm not sure about the GPU ones either.

What would be interesting to know is how many people have had thermal issues that a return to PCS wouldn't fix, particularly for these high-end laptops. I've read a few stories about overheating issues in this forum that didn't end well.

I don't expect perfection and am willing to mod to improve the temperature issue as long as overheating (under extreme load) is the norm rather than the exception i.e., sending it back to PCS is unlikely to improve the issue, unfortunately there is too little data.

I guess I should create such a thread..
