Question about the graphics card,

I’m not too clued up on Radeon, what are they like? Or more particular, what is the one you have suggested like compared to RTX 3060 / 3060 ti?

It's around the same performance as the 3060ti. It all depends on current prices but you may find the 3060ti a better option.

Exactly this, OP. Price and availability were the main reason for this choice. For this current generation I personally still favour Nvidia’s cards, but AMD are working hard to close the gap 👍

Hi all,

Some of you will know have have been researching over the last week or so, I have looked at finances and I’ll be able to go to £1400. ( a couple of quid more for something decent I can do)

Using for games, like CoD, Dayz, and Squad to name a few, but I have in mind to be able to play the new battlefield later this year.
(General surfing the web also ie YouTube)

My monitor is the AOC 3279VWF. I don’t plan on upgrading this any time soon as I simply like it enough to keep it. (That’s code for ‘the wife won’t be happy if I did swap it’)

I am mainly looking for performance here, components with RGB are for me a nice to have But not essential.

Must have WiFi as that’s the only way I can connect to internet (in my current house at least)

Its a tight squeeze trying to fit a 5000 Series CPU in and including a card that would run a 1440p ultrawide, the RTX 3060 Ti might cope as its 75Hz (@SpyderTracks @Scott ?), but its more than the 6700XT atm and thats a better card (somewehere between the 3060Ti and 3070 it would seem)
You just dont get raytracing or DLSS with AMD.

Is there anything you can do to ease the budget, like perhaps an existing copy of Windows? I havent heard recent confirmation, but the free upgrade on Win 7/8 to 10 was still going. And you can then transfer that licence to the new build and install Windows yourself. Did it myself back in Aug its very simple to do.

Theres plenty of upgrade potential (including storage options)

yes that’s my monitors specs although I’m unsure if it’s ultra wide?

Raytracing would be a bonus but at my budget I know it could be a push. But for the games I play do I really need it? I’m unsure!

many thanks for your suggestion, ideally I’d want the 5600x so I’d definitely push the budget for this.
