Yep, the boot time is a totally non issue to me anyways, Once booted, the speed seems quite speedy :)
I'm certainly happier now than I was so now just hoping all will be well.

I was actually quite surprised too at how quickly Windows 10 actually installed from the DVD I should have said... really fast.
Perhaps this was due to the SSDs speed, as once the Windows files were copied, I guess the disk then inflates them and does what it does, so the SSD Storage maybe did get to shine here a little bit.

Either that or Win 10 install is just pretty fast.
(Ive installed every version of Windows (including 2nd editions) since Windows 95)

Last one was Win 7 Home (64bit), on 2x Samsung 128GB SSDs (in RAID 0)

In a race.. Win 10 install time won

LFFPicard, but it didn't have the driver for your dial up modem... so you forgot to add on the extra time to fix that. ;)

This has been a very interesting thread to read as I have just ordered a similar system although not with the PCIe SSD so hopefully wont have the same problems.

Good to see how you worked through the issues and how you kept your cool. Well done.

Sorry to hear of your problems Warbloke. I am looking to buy my 2nd pc from pcs. I had no problems with my first purchase back in 2009. The pc was switched on and i just had to name it basicly.
Good you had the knowledge and alot of patience.

No antcol, while I agree its not the most professional attention to the build, the hassle Ive chalked down to experience.
On one hand it would be good if I didn't have to spend my own time fixing what they didn't do correctly, but on the other hand, it wasn't time wasted.. as it improves my own learning. At least I have tested recovering my entire system from scratch/ clean install.

The Win 10 media, while annoying, I realise the actual cost is for the licence and not the actual disk.
Its not like PCS give an official genuine Windows disk anyways - its just a pressed disk from PCS themselves which they have made.
Since I learned that all their disks are in English US and not English UK (and PCS support seem to think there isn't an English UK for some reason - given its been around since Windows 8 so what ... 3 years maybe), I guess Id rather keep my own disk which I downloaded from Microsoft. At least during install I can choose English UK, and not need to install a language pack later.

An update at this point a few weeks later, is the PC is now all good since. No issues at all and I am happy with it.
Been busy playing the free game I got with purchase. (Metal Gear Solid 5) - which I am finding to be a really good game and having much fun playing.
