Hi there! All signs are pointing towards AMD being better than Intel at the moment, especially for gaming. So I've gone with an AMD build.

The Case that you had is a fantastic one, but it's currently out of stock so I've gone for the Obsidian 500D. If/ when the 5000X comes back in, I'd switch back to it. For gaming, the 5800X is a top of the line CPU (the 5900X is more focused on multi-core loads, which gaming isn't) and will out perform a i9-10900K. For motherboard, you'll want the X570 chipset to better support the 5800X, the STRIX isn't necessary tho and the TUF will do a perfect job. I'm a little conflicted about if a 3080 is needed for 1440p 240hz so I'll leave it in and let someone else weigh in. For storage I've gone for a super fast Gen 4 SSD for Windows and programs then a 2TB SSD as a games drive. For general storage, I've added a 2TB HDD as general files (documents, photos, videos) have no gain from being on an SSD. An 850W unit will be perfectly adequate for this, you'd only want a 1200W if you planned on running dual 3090's or something crazy like that. The H150i cooler won't fit in the new case and also isn't totally necessary for the 5800X so it's up to you if you switch back to it when the 5000X comes back. The Corsair AIO already comes with high quality thermal paste applied so the extra stuff won't be necessary. I've removed the extra fans as they won't fit in this configuration. If you wanted to add some fans to the 5000X, I'd suggest adding 3 Corsair LL 120's, alternatively, if you keep the 500D, you could call up and request a single LL in the back, although again, not totally necessary. As the motherboard doesn't have wifi, I've added an AX200 WiFi card which will give 5Ghz bandwith and Bluetooth. I've removed the anti-virus as it's known to cause issues and the silver warranty is well worth the £5.

@JUNI0R's build looks great. I ever so slightly disagree about CPU: the upgrade to the 5900X is about £180 (since the Strix X570 is a good plan if you go for the 5900X) and, if you have the budget available, I don't think it would be a bad choice.

It's not necessary by any stretch of the imagination: it will probably give no discernable improvement in gaming performance. But for a 7% increase in price it is 50% extra cores. In the lifetime of the PC, this may come in handy if you end up doing video editing or streaming work. As I say, it's definitely not necessary, but I also don't think it's a bad idea if you were minded to spend the extra.

Good advice and worth thinking about. Currently, I am already 55 working days into this current build, so changing the AMD will not happen, it was one of the main things I took into consideration with this pc and decided to stick with intel as I have seen the difference and am not too fussed about it and have seen that AMD waiting times are huge for the CPUs I would probably choose (Kind of a lame excuse I know). The 3080 is the card I am set on and I feel that my monitor would work great with it. For storage, having an HDD for general files makes sense and would be cheaper but I would probably end up having games on both of my SSDs anyway so I chose to have 2 SSDs. The 1200W is mainly future-proofing and I feel like it is worth chipping in the extra bucks now as we do not know what will come in the future. In terms of the case, I will leave the case as it is for now and will see what the stock availability is like when they get my 3080. Thank you for the advice, much appreciated. I would love to see your comments.

That's a shame about the Intel choice. I have heard of people that approach PCS with a Pre-configured AMD build ready to go they sometimes allow them to switch without losing their place in the queue, although it seems to depend a bit on who picks up the phone. That could be worth a try? The AMD CPU's currently don't have any pre-order status but a while ago, I seem to remember the 5900X and 5950X had some although when you have a 3080, the CPU isn't the part you'd be waiting for. If you'd like to keep both SSD's then that's all good, although sometimes I feel it's worth having a HDD, even in my dream spec there's still one there 😂
