New PC Build Help

Background ive had 3 pcspecialist builds in the past, my last one a few years ago, the GPU blew, taking the mobo and cpu with it so i just ended up buying a prebuilt from currys for £1000 (£800 with the discount)

Runs a 1650 and a I5 9400f running at basic 2.9GHZ

Im not gaming heavy on my PC, i play more on PS5 but i do play some games like honkai star rail, ni no kuni crossworld (mobile games with PC clients) generally runs fine but does struggle if i have both open (dual screens)

i think its time for an upgrade and il hand this one down to my nephew who's starting college

My main this is i download a lot of movies/tv shows and have it linked to my TV via hdmi as a "third monitor) to watch on TV so id like something that will handle 4k, the 1650 struggled as it cant handle 4k


I just really wanna future proof for the next 5+ years, not a heavy gamer

Any feedback on any changes they might do is recommended, my max budget is £3000 if i have to improve my spec a little more for my desired outcome

Yeah you're massively underspending in some areas that will critically affect the build

The 4060 is literally the worst possible GPU you can buy currently on the market

The run a 4K screen or monitor you'll need a fairly beefy GPU one with much more power than the pitiful 4060

Give me a couple mins

I'd recommend getting a second opinion on anything you change, we put these together with balance in mind so changing can upset the balance. Always worth getting another opinion when spending this kind of money in my opinion

I will be gaming on my asus screens, they not demanding games so. I don’t really need a 4K resolution on them hence why I went for those monitors, if I do play something beefy then I’ll play it on my 4K tv which has my ps5 connected to it

As Counting Down has stated, i wont be doing any 4k gaming, maybe very rarely i may game on something which i want on 4k (though i am mainly a PS5 Gamer)

Reconfigured from Steveyg suggestion and taking into account i may not need as beefy GPU and CPU

I need some help in finding a suitable network card

I bought a build with

ASUS® PRIME B650-PLUS (DDR5, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready!

not realising that this mobo didnt have a wifi network card so im having to use a poor usb wifi adapter

as i cant put full size PCI express cards, is there any low profile network cards i could install a much more powerful usb wifi adapter i could buy?

Why can't you put a full size PCIe card in there? What's stopping you?

An Intel AX210 would be a good option, includes bluetooth and not expensive. You can order through your PCS account for next day delivery or source elsewhere.

not enough space, Hyte Y60 can only sit as a vertical GPU which means there is no space behind it to fit a card

Have you already got the system? If not, just get the TUF board with the Wifi on it. I don't think the prime board is a good choice at all.

They already have it, unfortunately didn't get further feedback after updating the spec.

Unfortunately picked THE ONLY board that doesn't have integrated wifi and bluetooth, plus several other overspends and underspends. Having had a further look online, finding half height modern wifi / bluetooth PCIe cards is actually quite difficult, likely because there's no call for them on modern systems as most boards now run integrated.

If it were me, I'd cancel the order and start over, you can do far better than that build at the same price.
