its not game, as i left it alone, doing nothing while i watched a movie on tv, and after bout 30min it rebooted itself, i checked the gfx, it was heated or anything so doesnt seem to be a cooling issue

Yeah, still sounds like a software issue to me. But its worth getting in touch with PCS to arrange a RMA and get it sent back as soon as you can.

I rang PCS and they said pull the gfx out and try it to see if it does the same. But my only concern is it only seems to be doing it when it taxes the gfx, which i understand could be a issue with the gfx but could it not also be the psu not supplying enough or supplying too much power to it? Cause if it is a combination of both the psu and gfx pulling one out might resolve it then but a new card might have same issue?

Also would pulling the pci-e cable out he card be sufficient enough or would I have to physically pull it out, just the case seems a tight fit and i don't wanna end up damaging anything

Im my experience, random shutdowns tend to suggest overheating, is the cpu cooler working? can you open the case to check? Are both pipes from the cpu cooler hot? are the fans on the rad running? by the way.....mega storage there mate :tt1:

Happened to me when I made my first gaming PC. It used to randomly shut down and I didn't know why. Everything was connected properly etc. I installed CPU-Z to check temperatures and it turned out my CPU temp were more than 85 deg. I removed everything, applying another layer of thermal paste, fitted everything properly and it worked. My CPU temp had dropped to 45 deg.

It looks similar case to me, it is either thermal paste is not properly applied or it could be the CPU cooling fan not installed properly.

On the family computer we had a intel Q8400 quad 2.6ghz cpu and a really cheap foxconn motherboard (pre built pc crap) and that used to hit 98-100 degrees under load according to prime and core temp and it never shut down! That's why it's best not to rely on auto shut off functions on cpu's/ motherboard because they might no always work! However when it did overheat sometimes it would just shut off, no warning or anything!

100C isn't at the threshold for shutting itself off; I believe it's 105C for 775 quads. And obviously it reached that temperature as it shut itself off without warning (which is what it does if the temperature gets too high).
