This is the motherboard layout from the manual…have you got anything in the chassis fan headers on the left.

Nothing is plugged in there. Which is concerning, considering i have 3 case fans + 1 extra fan at the back.

I see in the manual all the sockets in question are marked under the same section - Fan and Pump Headers. Therefore would there really be a lot of difference as to how they are plugged in? Im thinking this has passed testing and quality control somehow, so is it that bad or have they just shipped it to get it out  ?

The top of mb, no aio pump connected? Im no expert but this looks wrong right, i dont have a cpu fan but an AIO.

The bottom, case fan wire does seem to sit in w pump spot. Im guessing this is where i need to swap things?

I might be wrong, but feels like the fans/cooling wiring has been done wrong. I hope im mistaken and there is an easy solution, as im far from technical when it comes to all these wires.

As for the game, I have switched from dx 12 to 11 and it made a huge difference. But am I shouting my self in the foot quality wise? Should I just ticker with fan settings?
That looks like a proper 4Pin on the W_PUMP header, the cooler comes with an iCue Commander Core or Core XT (not entirely sure).

BUT I think only the Commander Core XT may support the new RS ARGB fans that are on the case. The cooler has the old ML RGB fans.

If you're unsure how to check the configuration, and you're sure icue is setup ok, then I would contact PCS for advice, then can do a remote session hopefully to find out what's happening, not sure if they hold a log of how it's been setup, but they should have a better idea of how it's been configured.

I appreciate your help, sorted the noise issue, but now all confused with wiring and lables in the software... what a headache. I will reinstall reinstall icue software tomorrow or Thursday and see if there is any difference anywhere. If not i will contact PCs directly i guess.

Thanks for help everyone.

All those fans should be addressable within iCue, you shouldn't need to use the motherboard controls at all. Except for the one Thermaltake one but you'd just set that at a low static speed.

This is what I see in icue. Fan 1 and 2 controls aio fans. Fan 3 I have no idea, turning it to zero has no effect on any visible fans. Pump is aio pump… I hope. Nothing else is visible.

if you go to devices do you see the iCue controller?

Have you made sure all device firmwares are up to date in iCue?

Reinstalled icue, nothing really changed apart from below, 4 become 3. The error in the icue software I mentioned earlier is also gone.

Today I thought, could my case fans be plugged into the controller and then controller plugged into w_pump? I read that some case fan speeds can’t be controlled by bios and they do this instead of plugging it into motherboard.

My friend has also purchased a similar build to mine with same case and slightly different cooler. It’s in testing at the moment but his wiring from the picture looks identical to mine.

I have resolved my fan confusion now with the help of PCS and myslef. Thought i'd post what happened and the solution incase anyone runs into similar issue.

So, at first i was told that my standard case fans and the extra case fan have all been plugged into W_PUMP+. Apparently this was done due to PCS being used to chassis fans connection being there on most motherboards... I was wasnt very pleased to such carelesness, but it wasnt a massive issue as technically they can still function from this header. The fix was very simple, move the connector from W_PUMP+ to any chassis fan connector (most MB have multiple), in my case just I just moved it a bit to the left to CHA_FAN1 header.

However, after doing this the fan sound was fine but my ICUE software was still showing 3 fans for AIO instead of 2. Upon some investigation by adjusting FAN3 speed i realised that the third fan showing up in the software is my extra case fan (which i was told was connected together with my other case fans), meaning it was plugged in to the controller at the back. This technically didnt cause me any issue but i questioned it with PCS and they said it is OK to remain where it is.

I have deleted the Amoury Crate software which i used at first to make my fans quiet as the connections are now correct and the fan speeds can be controlled from BIOS (but they are just fine at standard settings).

Overall im not too pleased with PCS not paying more attention as to where they plug stuff in, regardless of the case/MB combination. They have told me they will pass on this feedback to the relevant team, will see if that happens as my friend had the same issue with same case/MB he ordered.

Good to hear it was sorted with an easy fix
