it suggests at the check out that change to a 450w power ? whats the plan for this the power
The 450W is the bare minimum it'll need. That also means it'll be running close to full capacity it's whole life which will be bad for the system and shorten it's life. If your PSU dies there's a risk the rest of your PC will go with it. Where as if you go with a high wattage high quality unit, it'll be a lot more comfortable as it'll be operating at a lower percentage and therefore last longer! It's very likely that the RMx system in the spec will outlast the rest of the PC.

An analogy I like to think of is that it's similar to a car engine, with the revs being the wattage used and the redline being the maximum wattage. If your revs are always close to the redline, it's bad for the engine, where as if revs are low and redline is high then it's much happier. It's the same with the wattage of PSU's really

That is a very good analogy from Junior.

Worth adding, should you decide to upgrade the GPU at any point, that would almost certainly need more power. Therefore a quality PSU gives you added options as well as a longer working life.

@Martinr36 I just wanted to check -- you've got a 5800X and a standard AMD cooler in this. Is this what you intended?

Thank you for this if o was to add more cores and more sd what should i use just so i can see how much more it would be?
Puget Systems benchmarks give the 5800x about a 15% higher score than the 5600x for Premiere Pro. The 5900x scores higher, but that is quite a step up in price.

The post I quoted and the config link both say standard AMD cooler. (Or I'm missing something completely. Which, at this point on a Friday, isn't unconceivable.)
yeah, i'm saying change to the 240 i didn't mean for the standard one
