The above is the purchased PC, I have received and set it up on my end with no major issues however when trying to use the Windows Store app I was getting some problems, when trying to troubleshoot those problem I then found these quite worrying menu issues.

When attempting to change some of the computer settings in the Windows 11 settings menu I am getting a completely messed up menu interface where menus aren't quite right and the setting within them are nothing to do with what the menu is for.

This is obviously causing worries right now and of what potential future issues might arise when working with the OS.

I have attempted factory resetting the OS but the issue is still occurring.

Thanks in advance for any advice that can be given.

You'd need to clean install, reset will just have the same issues
This is probably going to be hard to believe but in the process of clearing out a USB to prepare for a clean install, it has miraculously went to how it is meant to be. I don't know how or why but I will just be grateful it's happened. Thanks for the pointer still though.

Would probably be worth doing that clean install anyway, just in case - in case there any other funky unknown-about stuff going on

And given its new and you probably don't have 5 thousand things installed on it yet, it should be fairly simple to sort out now anyway

Agree 100% with Spyder and Rakk, better to have the pain of doing a complete wipe and reinstall now, then later down the line when you have more applications installed, personalisation of settings completed etc.

Another vote for a clean install, and just in case you need them, instructions below

Download a new copy of Windows using the Media Creation Tool (Second option on linked page) to an 8GB (min) USB.
Boot that USB and choose a Custom Install.
Delete all UEFI partitions on the system drive (EFI System, Recovery, MSR Reserved, Primary).
Select the unallocated space that results and click the Next button. The installer will create the correct partitions and install Windows.
Run Windows Update repeatedly, even across reboots, until no more updates are found.
You may need/want to download and install the latest graphics driver from the Nvidia/AMD website (they change so regularly the latest version isn't always in the Windows libraries).

This is also worth a watch

Thanks all for the tips! I took all the sage advice and did indeed perform a complete reinstall, currently attempting to do the final updates however it is showing this one update that is not doing anything when I click to download and install, I also downloaded the intel auto driver checker app and it shows no updates for intel necessary, any last pointers on this one? I'm stumped.

You need to install the chipset driver I suspect. Go to Asus website and look up your motherboard model, then go to the Support, Downloads section to find the driver files. Don't installed Armoury Crate ;)

That got rid of 2, only 2 left now and still getting the same update indicator as before, getting there slowly haha, thanks though!

You appear to be right the wireless card is gone however there are no drivers listed in the My Account section that I can find. I will use that other link for the other device thanks!

No luck there either lol, Intel Graphic driver installer is coming up short and the driver I suspected that matched it from the asus website (matching my motherboard) also didn't make a difference to this unknown device. Definitely an enigma.

Try right clicking it and uninstall it, then restart to see if it detects it and finds a driver

If you ran Windows Update after the install, and ran it repeatedly until no more updates were found - and checked under 'View optional updates' for any driver updates, then drivers for these devices should have been found and installed.

Check in Windows Update under 'View optional updates'.....

Apologies I have to turn in early at night as I work very early mornings. This didn't resolve it but your tips and pointers so far certainly helped me understand further in both windows 11 and dealing with problematic drivers a lot so I definitely thank you for that!

In the end I was talking to a friend of mine at 3am before work and he mentioned signing up for the free trial of Ccleaner Pro and using its driver updater, lo and behold that seems to have solved all of the issues that I was having. Again many thanks for your tips and to the others who chipped in towards sorting this all as well.

I never checked optional updates however will keep this in mind for future reference if other problems arise to see if anything helps from there.

You're better checking there and using any drivers it shows up than using the ones that Ccleaner installs

Unfortunately ccleaner will have compromised the system, it was relevant in XP days but not since. Any driver updater though will compromise the system.

You'd best clean install as you don't know what drivers will have been over written.
