No Synaptics Control Panel, can't disable Palm Check

Recently got a 15.6'' Cosmos Series laptop. It does this annoying thing where if I hold down keys on the keyboard it disables the trackpad, which e.g makes playing games using the trackpad really frustrating.

On my other Win10 laptop, I have a Synaptics Control Panel in the trackpad/mouse properties that lets me turn this "feature" off:

On this one, I do not:

I've updated and downgraded and fiddled with my drivers repeatedly, but I haven't been able to get it to show these options.

Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

Where have you been trying to get drivers from? Your main PCS account and/or Clevo directly?

Is Clevo Control Centre or Hotkey installed?

Thank you for your rapid reply. :)

I got the drivers from the PCS download labelled 10_Touchpad_W10.zip. The driver is Synaptics SMBus TouchPad Version: 19.5.32.61. I also tried 19.5.32.67 which I got via Windows Update, IIRC.

Neither "Clevo Control Centre" (or Center) nor "Hotkey" are accessible through the start menu, so I assume they're not installed?

I'm not sure if they show up in the start menu or not (not owning a recent Clevo laptop myself).

However in your position I would probably try reinstalling CCC / Hotkey (however it's called for this chassis) from your PCS account. Or sourcing it directly from Clevo (your clevo chassis model is usually on the underside of the laptop).

e.g. W150ERM - though that won't be yours.

Others may have a much more expert insight into this - I'm just basing the above on the principle that if something with the 'chassis' doesn't work e.g. keyboard backlight, often it's a CCC / Hotkey issue

Have you checked under the new touchpad entry in device settings?
My Synaptics settings were moved there with an update.
